A proper angler fish Pokemon should have gender differences. Females being the well-known ugly monsters and males being little 1cm cute blobs.

Also, the pokemon Lanturn and Chinchou are based off angler fish. There is not a single dolphin on the planet that has a vertical tail nor do they have lanterns sticking out of their head. If they where based off an aquatic MAMMAL, then they would at least have the proper anatomy for it, such as the horizontal tail fin. Also, the fins on Chinchou and its evolution resemble the fins of fish, not dolphins.
