Gardevoir. Liked it even before I went into puberty, so I don't like Gardy because of "LE EBIC WAIFU MEME XD". I found it to be a very elegant and nice looking psychic type when I played Ruby for the first time back in we ol' 2003. My first game was Crystal, but none of the pokémon never catch my eye, mainly because it was green, my favorite color, Gardevoir was my first (and still is) favorite. Ever since that it has been my favorite. It's a shame that the shiny is complete garbage, though. Blue is my most hated color.

If i had known Magcargo was so bad as a kid, I often wonder if I would of fallen in love with it.

I remember when I was young, I would always save up money and try to by packs of pokemon cards at the local 7/11. I didnt know how to play, I just wanted to get the original 151 mons.

Then one day I noticed a magazine. I cant remember what magazine it was but I'm assuming it was nintendo power. I took a look inside and saw that a new generation of pokemon was coming out. I was so excited, I remember bringing it to school and getting the whole school hyped.

Then I saw Magcargo. I loved animals in shell's and I fell in love with it immediately, knowing I had to have one.

Sadly I didn't get silver for a while until I bought a Gameboy Advanced. When I finally did get my hands on the game, I never found where Magcargo was. I just assumed it would be in jhoto, and had no idea you could only find it in Kanto. When Hoenn came out, I was in highschool and wasn't interested in pokemon at the time so I missed out on my second chance to get it.

Finally when I got back into pokemon in 4th gen, I finally got my hands on my childhood favorite pokemon. I even thought it was really good for awhile. But eventually I figured out the poor thing had garbage stats and awful typing. Still I just cant hate it. Magcargo is still my favorite pokemon, even if it doesn't live up to my childhood expectations.

I love everything about it. The design and the idea about it and the fact it's a special powerhouse. Porygon-Z was my favourite from the moment I laid eyes on it. I spent forever training that Porygon in (Veilstone? I forget) city to no avail. It was then I found out you had to trade evo it TWICE to get Porygon-Z. So I convinced my cousin to get Platinum so that I could trade with him and turns out he loves Pokemon now, he and I still play to this day and we're both excited for Sun and Moon.

Also, every new game I breed a shiny Porygon-Z and use it on my Pokemon Journey.

He is my bro forever

The Poliwag line were the first pokemon I ever saw.

Poliwrath was the first rare card I ever got from a pack.

When I got Pokemon Red I instantly looked where to find a Poliwag to make a 'Wrath. He became more my main than Charizard. And he just stuck with me every generation since then.

He may not be best, but he's fun to use. Especially when Belly Drum + Salac Berry was easier to pull off.

A recent one for me is Meowstic. Around Christmas time, my husband and I finally had enough money to purchase two 3DS's. I have been playing every Pokemon game since Red and Blue. My Husband had only played one or two Pokemon games before this and was excited get back into the franchise. Since it was it was his first game in forever I let him pick out which version he wanted. So he ended up getting X and I got Y. I was happy that we both hadn't been exposed to anything involving X and Y. Both of us quickly found out about wondertrade and went crazy. We both ended up receiving two Espurr. My husband's was female and mine a male. It was surprising to find out that depending on the gender, the evolution looked different. We'd always battle each other and it would always come down to our two Meowtic in the end. Unfortunately he left for his basic training recently so I haven't really had the motivation to pick the game back up.

Scrafty.

I remember playing through Black for the first time, instantly entering our bromance the moment my scraggy evolved (I didnt know he would evolve into what would be my new pokebro)
Just look at this cool motherfucker
Anyway, the moment it was decided that he was my favorite was during a battle with a friend; our Pokemon were about the same level except for my bro who was 4 levels higher.
He singlehandedly won me that game. Moxie was insane. He didnt miss a single high jump kick and he never does still.

If I play Pokemon, I dont even want to catch and level up another scraggy, i just want my first one with me.

I always loved this whole line visually. Bulbasaur is adorable, Ivysaur is spunky, and Venusaur is badass (Even moreso in its Mega form, which I think is underrated design-wise).
I love the progression from seed to flower, and I think it's kind of cool that they are just monsters/creatures rather than being clearly based on one animal.

They're also super dependable in battle, both in single player and multi. I love bulky mons that can dish out damage, and status moves like Leech Seed and Sleep Powder are among my favourites.
If there's anyone here that only ever picked Charmander or Squirtle, I'd highly suggest training a Bulbasaur at some point, it's worth it.

If you've been playing Pokemon since the beginning and a new Gen Pokemon is your favorite, then you'll know that feeling where you analyze the new Pokemon, and then you come across one that completely catches your eye, and suddenly you go "I want that". That's how it was with Hydreigon when I skimmed the Unova dex on Serebii. So, you could say it was a "love at first sight" thing.

To go into detail, I just absolutely fell for everything about Hydreigon. I loved the fact that it's a multi-headed dragon, which caught me by surprise because I did not have the thought in mind that GF was going to base a Pokemon off one.

I love the design, and the typing. Again, I didn't think I'd see a Dark/Dragon type, and that was when I realized that Dark is probably my favorite type in the series.

Got back into pokemon when Platinum happened and Scizor claimed the throne as my favourite Mon ever. 5/5 design, 5/5 typing 6/5 movepool. It's fun to use ingame, battlefrontier/ingametourneys and competitive.

Flareon.

Picked this cutie as my favourite while going through the original trainer's Handbook back in 1999. What you would evolve your Eevee into was 'A Big Deal' of course since you only had one chance. This was the cutest, so of course I chose it. The Eevee episode of the anime made me love it and it's family even more.

It might not have the best moveset or stats, but it was part of my 'first' team (game was borrowed) so I don't care.

My first pokémon. ('My Best Friends' and 'Together Forever' playing in The background) The Venusaur line is my second favourite after Flareon & the eeveelutions.

(My other starters were Cyndaquil, Mudkip, Piplup, Snivy and Fennekin so I'll always have a soft spot for their lines too)

Aegislash is easily my most favorite Pokemon in existence.

Ghost and steel have been my favorite types for some time now, and I also have a soft spot for Pokemon based on inanimate objects. So as soon as Honedge was revealed, I nearly had a heart attack from excitement. Love Doublade as well, but Aegislash is just tops. Very awesome design.

Anorith. Fossils are pretty underrated in general, but Anorith is the most accurate. If the devs paid as much attention to gameplay as they did to paleontology, the series would be much better.

I loved Aipom ever since I saw him second gen. Just randomly headbutting trees and I found him. You don't see another trainer with an Aipom in game until after you beat the elite four so it made him feel that much more special. At first I hated Ambipom's design but now I like it and he can honestly be useful using Fake Out and AstoNish with the ability Technician. Gliscor is my close second.

Giratina hands down. I just love the design, its backstory and how versatile it is. And that shiny is fucking baller.

I always use it on my teams with a rest wall build, I don't care, megas broke the meta anyway

I am a sucker for the bancho esthetic, it's an animal I've wanted since I've started playing pokemon back in RBY, I personally love slightly bulky physical attackers, It learns my favorite moves; the elemental punches, and it's pre evo is cute as hell.

Something about Slowpoke has always been very aesthetically pleasing to me. How can you not love this dopey little bastard? Psychic was my favorite type in the Red/Blue era with water being a close second so I thought this guy was the coolest thing ever. I remember being super hyped after seeing the Pokemon 2000 movie knowing there was another Slowpoke evolution. The whole Slowpoke Tail bit in Gold/Silver also made me really sympathetic toward these guys. I also thought it was neat how it uses it's tail to fish and have always admired it's laziness. Bro for life.
