Mega evolution, retarded mechanics, the story was transformed into a weeb fest, same for the characters. X/Y influence, changes in trainers teams. Fucked up postgame, fucked up game progression. Shitty art/animations.

RS could excuse it's blocky graphics due to the hardware. ORAS had the chance to make the region look gorgeous, but chose instead to keep with the blocky, tile-based maps.

RS had 60 fps. Making combat and even overworld traveling look interesting.
ORAS has framerate issues despite being on a console dedicated to a fucking 3D gimmick.
RS also had no gates, which helped tie the world together in a very subtle, but significant way.
ORAS segmented almost every town and route. Also they removed a lot of the background artwork like trees to reduce polygon count.
RS was probably the biggest jump in game quality across any gen when compared to gen 2.
ORAS however didn't offer much other than the 3D, mega evolution and fairy type.
The impact the game had on the franchise expanded so much. ORAS is merely a remake with little cultural significance.
