In the games, do you play as your real life gender, or the opposite. Or do you switch it up each game?
For me, I pick whichever design I like better. For example

> Brendan > May
> Dawn > Lucas
> I like both Hilda and Hilbert, so I flip a coin in each play through
> Ethan/Gold > Lyra
> Leaf/Green > Red
> Nate > Rosa
> Calem > Serena

Male because I'm male. Though I got both versions with X/Y and picked Serena in Y, wasn't that bad but her team didn't feel like mine. Felt like I was controlling someone else, which is ideal for some but not for me.

When I get one gender I do a play through then I transfer my monsters to another game and start a new file as the opposite gender
