>ITT: think of your favorite animal/creature and make it a pokemon
I like octopi so I decided a water/ghost octopus mon would be cool. It can play off the them of a cute little white octopus with a bedsheet sort of look, possibly fading in and out of view. As for evolution I suppose it could look a little more spooky without pulling a malamar. Might be neat, lord knows I'd use it.
>Tarantula Hawk
would work well as either a Bug/Ground or, considering its sting, probably an Electric/Bug type.
>Dolphin
Water/Fairy or Water/Psychic. One or two stage line. Lots of sound based moves.
>>25864458
Might be cool. I can see some sort of team-ability for using more than one, but that'd probably be a waste in practice.
>>25864423
>Bug/Electric
>Signature move is Thunder Spear (I've been playing a lot of Xenoblade X lately)
>100 BP, 80 ACC, Bug/Electric dual typed move with a 30% chance to paralysed
Muh dik
>>25864408
Water/Ghost, tentacled creature.
Way too similar to Jellicent and Frillish.
Octopi are great. I would love another Octomon.
A hare pokemon.
Electric/Ground, high Speed and Sp.Def.
>Killer whale
Water/Fighting
Great for surfing, used by a lot of ocean battlers. Maybe some sort of rivalry with Seels or maybe a new penguinmon.
>>25864655
I see what you're saying but outside of typing a pringles jellyfish is noticeablydiffwfrom a bedsheet octopus. The tentacles will probably be nubbier too.
>>25864423
>Electric/Bug
>anything but a lightbulb themed firefly
no thanks
>>25864408
That sounded cute.
>>25864655
I can think of many ways an octopus would differentiate itself better from a jellyfish better than the three flaming foxes we've already gotten.
>>25864689
I know it's been done to death but I feel like water/dark or water/ice would be better suited for it
>>25864728
if it looked like >>25864955 it wouldn't be a problem.
Wouldn't mind it being physical instead of special.
>>25864423
I fucking hate Cazadors
>>25864955
Oh shit. OP here. Thanks anon.
Anyone got any name suggestions?
>>25864994
Water/Dark would actually be pretty good for it. Can't trust Orcas man.
I wanted Fighting for its strength but Dark works for it better.
>>25865073
Spooktopus
Geighst
Octoboo
>>25865208
Octoboo is adorable.
Water/Psychic-type with Protean as its primary ability.
>>25864408
Water type
Evolves into a Water/Steel where its tail turns into a propeller like on a motor boat.
Red Panda
Could be a cool starter
>>25865073
Don't know about this guy, but evo could be Tentaquilt
Think patchwork octopus that can change the pattern's color to camouflage.
Poison/Psychic with Color Change and Protean for HA.
Water/Psychic
I want a Capybaramon. Make it Ground/Water or pure Water.
The first form is super cute as usual, but instead of "animefying" the second one with angry eyes, make it a Snorlax-like thing to better fit the lazy nature of the animal.
I would love that. I love capys.
Water/Dark
Water/Fighting
>>25865453
Only if they make Crab Hammer a punching move for Iron Fist.
Fire/Dark
Male: Water/Poison
Female: Water/Electric
Grass/Fighter
>>25865362
Neat idea. Kind of grim considering, though.
>>25864408
Not my favorite, but the Cassowary so I can name it Boss Cass and have five other Heliolisks backing me up.
>>25865554
Images help, it's specific as shit and there's little reason for it but I'd love the fuck outta it
Platypus with frankenstein's monster themes, based on the belief that it was a stitched together hoax. Could be Water/Electric because lightning is what brought the monster to life, and real life platypodes use electromagnetic navigation.
>>25865433
Hm, what about an octopus pokemon that also has themes of stereotypical ayylmaos?
>>25865438
Raticate is in part based on the capybara. It used to have webbed back feet in its pokedex entries, even. Bibarel also, unfortunately, feels like it'd make it difficult for them to be mechanically unique.
>>25865463
Nah man, it's gotta have Technician for that nuclear Vacuum Wave.
I just want a tiger. We finally got a lion. Here's hoping we will get one in gen 7.
>>25865362
i could easily see a water/grass manatee pokemon with moss covering its back
pic related could be a number of types, normal(obvious), normal/dark, pure dark, maybe part poison? opossums arent really poisonous/venomous though so thats not as plausible
>>25865599
>opossums arent really poisonous/venomous though so thats not as plausible
Neither are bats. This is pokemon, it's fine.
>>25865444
>Malamar
>>25865610
yeah thats true, plus poison/dark is a pretty good combo
>>25865572
Platypus Pokemon should be Electric/Poison.
>>25865599
Normal fast with high Atk, when it's HP drop by 50% it pretends to be dead as Normal/Ghost with higher Def but low Speed.
>>25865572
B-but, I need a full capybaramon! Japan loves capybaras, I'm subscribed to four capybara channels from japan and like a bunch of facebook pages from japanese zoos.
I'm sure Nintendo will deliver! Also give me a Corgimon.
Ice/Fairy
>>25864408
Devil squid evo done right would be awesome! But it could also be a "Dumbo" octopod wich would be interesting
Ground/Fairy
>>25865681
Steel would over kill it.
>>25865636
Eh. I'd rather it just learn poison sting or have poison touch as an ability. Not really worth a whole typing.
>>25865756
Pure Electric or Water/Electric with Poison Touch as an Ability would be a rather elegant way of going about it.
It starts out as a poison type, until it reaches 3rd stage. 3rd stage would be of course dragon/poison.
>>25865825
Fuck my life. Forget what I said.
>Dragalge
>>25865849
>type combo repeats can't exist
Water/flying spoonbill when?
Cyndaquil, Shaymin, and Sandslash aren't porcupines.
kms
Dark/Fairy
Grass
>>25865982
no shit they are hedgehogs and sandslash is a shrew
>>25866169
Pangolin actually
>>25865392
What would a dragon/fairy look like?
>>25866235
God i love Spinda, best normal.
>>25866253
typical fairy tale dragon. Maybe a story book or stained glass look to it.
>>25866253
Dragonite
Owl. Noctowl exists, but for the sake of discussion, here's my thing.
>Stage 1; Owlet, Normal/Flying
>Stage 2; Small Horned Owl, Normal/Flying
>Stage 3 (Trade with Nevermelt Ice): Snowy owl, Ice/Flying
>Stage 3 (Trade with Dusk Cloth): Barn Owl, Dark/Flying
>Stage 3 (Trade without item): Horned Owl, Normal/Flying
>>25865453
It has mantis in its name, so that's an automatic Bug type.
>>25866579
I like the way you think. Stage two could be a spotted owl as well, just for design.
Peacock
Fairy/Flying
Just cause they look light in the feet. And with female variants.
>>25865599
Normal/Ghost
>>25866761
Forgot about the togi like I'll think of a type later
>>25865599
>>25866774
One Anon had and idea for a normal type 'Possum that changed to Normal/Ghost when against a fighting type.
>>25866954
I an think of so many possum things but half of them are stupidly specific gimmicks, like leftovers being a useful item for one.
>>25866808
Why are people in this thread convinced it needs to be a unique type combo?
>>25867214
There are 171 possible type combinations, with 133 already used. People want to see new stuff.
>>25866761
I feel like if light type were a thing, a peacock would be good for it. I guess Fairy kind of counts.
>>25866253
