So, is there only one Diancie canonically or ...?
I kind of like to think that, even though near impossible, it'd be possible to collect a horde of rock waifu's. But if that's the case, then why did the thieves in the movie freak out so much over this one?

Literally just a mutant Carbink. Expose one to a Chinese toy factory and hope for the best.

I know it's completely irrelevant, but Mega-Diancie has to be one of my favorite mega designs. It just looks so beautiful and elegant.
Wasn't she some kind of royalty or some special snowflake in her Carbink community? I can't watch those movies long enough to finish the story.

Yes and Yes, she was literally their Princess.

She was important for the survival of their kingdom, for without her powers, the crystal that provides light and life would die out, and so would their stuff.
And can't forget that the shopping/dressing up scene involving her, Serena, and Bonnie was adorable as hell.
All hail the Fairy Princess
Nobody knows. How a Carbink can turn into Diancie in the first place is a mystery.
The way it's called a "sudden transformation" when Carbink can sleep for hundreds of millions of years without changing makes it clear Diancie isn't a natural creature though.
