Op here. Yes I'm lucky I got a female but I did hunt both nidoran male and ralts and I got ralts after 1.6k eggs and nido after 2.3 k eggs after getting 2 fails for each hunt. Its pretty discouraging but you just have to keep at it. Lol took me 6 fail attempts and well over 3k eggs to get a shiny female sneasel.

There's actually more effort involved in creating a Pokémon than in catching it. You have to make sure it's accurate. For example, you can't just throw together a Raichu with Mega Kick and Seismic Toss, it has to have the right info. From FR/LG, met at Lv. 3-7 as a Pikachu in Viridian Forest, shiny, correct stat layout for it's nature in FR/LG, correct Pokeball, etc. Its PID has to be correct, as well as its EV's and IV's. I prefer making mine in BW2, because if it can't pass through Bank, there's something wrong with it. It's actually quite a bit of work, especially for those unfamiliar with each game. For example, a shiny Mew from Emerald can't be English, it has to be Japanese, as that event only occurred in Japan. Fateful Encounter flag. Also, everything before 6th Gen, as far as events go, have an SID of 00000, but for 6th Gen, it's not 00000, so making say, idk, shiny Diancie, requires the correct SID, which can be hard to find. It's not as easy as it's cracked up to be.

Ive caught/bred around 150 or so shinnies... 12 or so from wonder trade but I don't count those as they're probably fakes from retarded little pokegen twats... or whatever they call the new cheap tricks they use..
