Backstory
>Be me
>Girlfriend has sister, Zoe & Sydney
>Zoe is 13
>Sydney is 9
>Both like Pokémon

Story
>Pick up Zoe from school for my girlfriend
>Zoe gets in car, plays 3DS
>I can tell it's White 2 by the music
>"Why don't you play X version I got for you, Zoe?"
>"I did, Anon. I'm playing the White games again."
>"Why?"
>"It was too easy. I don't wanna play again."
>Zoe is 13
>Got her White version when she was 8, been a fan since she was 6 or 7.
>Got her X version when she was around 10 years old
>"What's your favorite Pokémon game, Zoe?"
>"White 2. I like it a lot."
>Surprised she doesn't prefer X, the easier and more child friendly game even compared to Gen V
>Next day
>Pick up Zoe again
>Arrive early
>Zoe's playing in the school park with her friends
>One of the kids is wearing a generic Ashime shirt from Walmart or something
>I ask him if he plays the games, he says yes.
>"What's your favorite?"
>"I like Black."
>Ask all the other kids, some play the games, some don't.
>Majority answers with a Gen V game
>These children are between 10 and 13
>Later that day, on the way to pick up Sydney
>Arrive
>Sydney's eating snacks outside with friends
>I mention Pokémon
>I ask them their favorite Pokémon games
>Almost all say they don't like Pokémon, a few say they like Pokémon White or Black
>"Why don't you like Pokémon?"
>Almost all the complaints are
>"It's boring."
>"I don't like how it plays."
>"It's kind of easy I think."
>One kid says Slugterra is better
>I ask the kids who don't generally like the games "what games have you played?"
>Almost all say either X, Y, OR, or AS.
>The few that do like the games have played and prefer Gen V games

These are Game Freak's target demo, small children between 9 and 13. The majority say Gen 6 is too easy. These aren't just children, these are mostly girls. 9/10 YEAR OLD GIRLS think Gen 6 too easy. Is Game Freak smoking crack? They've dumbed it down with Gen 6 too much to the point where not even their demo enjoy it.
