I can recommend using savestates when cheating. Since soft-resetting might result in a white screen (unless you disable cheats before soft resetting)

Where's Dawn in your picture though OP? Are you some sort of homo?

The cheats are general speeding up quality of life improvements.

Eh, BB & VW and their sequels are both great but some things like firered omega are a bit outdated. SGSS is still good though.
