Gen four was literally the least memorable generations for me. The starters were shit. The gyms were shit. But it did have a neat champion.
Only gen I dislike enough to call "shit" is 3.

IV is the second best after V, fact. III comes following IV.
It definitely had some glaring flaws. Like mud, snow, and some HMs. Really liked Gen 4 though. And if we are including HG/SS, then gen 4 was great

Gen IV is okay because it is the most average generation: introduced many important items, buffed the underused Dragon-type (though Draco Meteor was a big mistake), Physical-Special split, didn't made or introduced any broken Pokémon (Salamence being the only exception. Garchomp was only broken on Sandstorm and anyways it dies to an Ice Beam if not holding Yache Berry).
