Is ORAS currently the best platform to farm shinies on?
I've finally decided to take the plunge and try to get my hands on a pink bun
Would MM or Dexnav be faster?
MM works. I got a few shinies when breeding for competitive teams

Friend safari is faster than the dexnav. Its around a 1/500 something flat rate for both, but you can find pokes much more quickly in the safari.

Also, I have a shiny buneary, 6IVs, Jolly, limber, bred it myself. cloned to shit so hard they look like stormtroopers, you want it? Post IGN and shitmon on GTS. There is your fucking shiny bunny.
The general toning down of saturation on the models made the shiny alt colors not pop out very much in contrast to the primary ones. Completely demotivated me from shiny hunting in Gen 6, no point to it if they don't look as good as they used to.

If you want a better example, look at pichu. In Gen 4, the shiny pichu was called the Pikachu-colored Pichu. In gen 6, it's so fucking desaturated that it's turned into a gen-4-pichu-colored pichu.

Battle Resort is the best place for breeding in the series, you has the Daycare, the IV checker AND the best place for running in circles in the exact same location.
Now include the fact that Gen 6 has O-Powers for make eggs hatch even more faster, a higher natural shiny rate AND the Blissey secret bases where you can raise a pokémon to LV50 with two battles. It's literally the best game for raising pokémon.
If you want to get good shinies for battles (or even just train perfect non-shiny monsters) it's your best bet.
