Anyone else have a "favorite" Pokémon that they never use/is just terrible?
Pic related
Honestly, I'd never use Chimecho for battling, contests, and I most certainly don't ever catch one. But for some reason, it's just a Pokemon that always pops into the back of my head whenever I think of my favorite :/

Cacturne
I use it in games sometimes
Slow and glass cannon is a sad combination
Chimecho became one of my favorites just because of how difficult it is to get in gen 3. I spent all day trying to catch one and when I did I used it for the rest of the game just because I like it so much. It may be useless in competitive but it's perfectly usable in the maingame.
>>25814269
if you have plenty of t wavers it can work
Adorable piece of garbage.
Not very good, but I still use it
>>25814269
I used to use this thing all the time in 5th gen UU. The "Seed Bomb or Sucker Punch?" mindgames were fun.
>>25814225
It's so sad that this Pokemon is so weak. It's Sp.Attack is bad and it's Attack stat is just a joke. But it's among my 10 Pokemon for some reason.
The only non scripted Shiny Pokemon I've ever actually caught is a Calm Swadloon with decent IVs.
Needless to say the adorable little fucker doesn't ever come with me to wifi battles. Fun to feed pokepuffs though.
My list of Pokémon-I-Never-Use-But-Am-Fond-Of-Anyway
1. Chimecho
2. Raltz
3. Ninetails
4. Shuckle
5. Alakazam
6. Golem
7. Gengar
8. Furret
9. Kingler
10. Surskit/Masquarain
11. Lanturn
12. Azumaril
13. Wooper
14. Forretress
15. Granbull
16. Breloom
17. Makuhita
18. Macargo
19. Mantine
20. Altaria
21. Cacnea
22. Wishcash
23. Cherrim
24. Victini
25. Lileep/Cradily
26. Spheal
27. Scoilipede
28. Litwick/Lampent/Chandelure
29. Aegis lash
That list is significantly longer than I expected it to be, considering it's just Pokémon I'm attached to for no currently observable reason
>>25814225
This particular spook can really only function as a support unit to the main attacker or defender, but it's a little on the squishy side for that
They gave the ghost an evolution and it's still a gambit in a fight.
Raichu, one of the biggest problems is getting a good moveset for it and shit legally. Volt Tackle is too hard to breed.
>>25814563
Well you can always run Pikachu. That lil fucker's a nuke if you give it some backup in the form of Sticky Web or Tailwind.
Ninetales will always be my all time favorite, but honestly, it's shit.
Bad stats, not very good movepool, meh plain fire typing, outclassed even in the lowest tiers, useful ability but banned from most tiers.
I finally got to use it in B/W to great effect, but after they nerfed weather I never got to properly use it again.
>>25814734
>Flamethrower
>Will o wisp
>Confuse ray
>Roar
Tropius. A motherfucking flying bananasaur? Yes please. Now if only it wasn't terrible as anything other than an HM slave.
>>25814225
As much as I love this guy, I've never had a opportunity to use him in game, and he's trash in every respect.
>>25814225
>not making your favorite pokemon viable using the hundreds of items, abilities, and set-up options available to you
step it up sempai
>lets make a pokemon and give it no stats
Not asking for pseudo tier stats, but there are a ton of pokemon that need some sort of BST buff. +10 to one stat wasn't enough for a lot of mons
>>25814320
>not using the V-create Spinda strategy
Spinda is OU, stop relying on Garchomp like a pleb.
>>25814269
It's one of my favorites too and it's really not as bad as you'd think. Use a sticky web-setter and invest in speed, it really helps.
Most Hoenn mons
Seriously, I fucking love all of them but I mostly just do nuzlockes nowadays so it'd be nigh impossible for me to use Seedot or Chimecho. I was lucky enough to catch a Breloom though.
>>25814824
movepool > stats
>>25814835
I swear Chimecho wasn't meant to be Gen 3.
>last pokemon in index number before Unown, even after Deoxys
>1% encounter rate in one tiny area in the game
>pre-evo introduced following gen
>not a single trainer outside the frontier has one
I have trained several to level 100
>>25814779
Doesn't has the stats or typing to pull it off though.
That set only really worked to some extent with heavy sp.def investment and when sun was permanent.
Back then we didn't had a million powerhouses like we do now either.
>>25814851
>Thread about Mons you like but never use
>Bragging about training a bunch of his favorite uncommon mon
I think you missed the point of the thread, friend
>>25814877
Not that guy, but I believe that the point of the thread is to discuss pokemon that are terrible OR pokemon that you never use.
>>25814861
>Getting nostalgic about gen 5
Ah, yes, the good ol days where, instead of having a million powerhouse pokemon, we had weather teams up the ass.
>>25814846
Not for everyone
i love pretty much everything about Drapion
just never had the Urge to Breed for or use it in game
>>25814847
Honestly it feels more like a Gen 2 mon than anything
>>25814819
This.
You can even make Ledian viable if you tried.
>>25814846
Delibird, corsola, magcargo, volbeat, chimecho, and several others that I can't think of off the top of my head would beg to differ.
>>25814901
Quick to assume things aren't you.
I never said I liked gen 5, it was fucking cancer. Water, Sand and Sun teams just about everywhere. Sun beats Water, Sand beats Sun, Water beats Sand, it was terrible.
If not, terrakion and keldeo just about everywhere.
All I said was that I finally enjoyed playing with a shitmon that for once, was viable.
>>25814910
dude's been my fave poison type for like, the last few gens. whats wrong w him?
>>25814269
Used it often in gen 4-5 during the weather wards with sand veil and brightpowder.
>>25814734
>not very good movepool
Actually Ninetales' move pool is pretty good. Stats are the problem. And Flash Fire isn't a bad ability, but again it all comes down to stats. That's literally the only reason.
How do I make Froslass viable without making it a suicide lead?
>>25814910
I love Drapion and have used it so many times. The only thing that Drapion needed/needs is a good ability or a boost in stats. Why the fuck deosn't Drapion have Intimidate as the hidden ability?! Stuff like Stoutland, Qwilfish and Hitmontop get Intimidate but the giga Scorpion that looks so evil and intimidating it has been used on every evil team in the anime and a rival team since it's inroduction doesn't? Okay.
>>25814796
my nigga. Admiral Nanners is a bro, I wish it wasn't complete shit. Maybe it'll get a mega that makes it passable at the very least.
>>25815001
I've used Tropius in Gen 4 NU 6-7 years ago to great success. But, it really fucking sucks.
>>25814934
>delibird
Nigga has destiny bond and is one of the faster spikers with rapid spin for its bracket.
Very good type coverage for its movepool also
Switch block it onto a ground type and you're gucci. Can even be a surprisingly good counter to the ground/dragons.
>>25814972
this >>25814995 pretty much what he needs
Gunk shot and Sucker punch would be helpful
but that can be said for a lot of Poison types
>>25815016
also he gets whirlwind for some reason?
>Let's make a queen bee Pokemon
>We'll give it a fantastic design and some interesting signature moves
>Plus it'll be rare and hard to get
>Now let's fuck it all up by making it a defensive Bug/Flying
>In the same generation we introduce Stealth Rock
Still salty about this.
Chimecho, Crawdaunt, Mime Jr, and Wynaut.
I love all of them, but I've never had the chance to really use any of them.
>>25814910
>>25815016
>One of my Sinnoh pokemon
>nearly impossible to get in a nuzlocke
Yeah, fuck you too GF
I always use galvantula even though I prefer joltik
>>25815083
At least it's not what Scyther is to Scizor
>>25815089
A perfectly usable alternative?
>>25814407
I have a supersonic + agility + flash based ledian that works pretty well at stalling out opponents and then I baton pass the max evasion to someone who can benefit from it.
but it completely folds to taunt
>>25815089
What is evolite
>>25814320
Spinda is OU you dumb faggot
>>25815079
Skorupi is an absolute pain to use in DPPt so consider yourself lucky
>>25815083
Play TCGO, it'll be the other way around :^)
>>25815527
>it's a safari only pokemon
Why even bother? Like hell i'm going to bother catching shit there and risk being "that guy that had a shiny run from him in the safari"
>>25814407
Because it has an amazing design
>>25815527
atleast its a normal Route mon in BW2
>>25815544
happen to me once Found a Shiny doduo in leaf green andi caught it
>>25814851
I'm played the sacred gold mod , and they buffed the shit out of farfetch'd. It's a fighting/flying and it tears teams apart wit hit's leek. He needs to get a evolution though,
Help me
