If they were in the earliest stages, this game wouldn't be released until at least late 2017. Nah, they've gotta be at least 70% done by now.
I've got no idea why they're holding off on footage. Maybe to bolster Nintendo's E3? But even then, Nintendo should have enough at E3 with the NX.

I know these Sunday variety shows are infamous for covering old news, but I am legitimately surprised they had THREE Game Freak employees on the show for the TV debut of a MONTH OLD trailer. That was the only reason I was sure we'd get something, because that's too little too late and there's no reason to have Masuda and company on the show for literally nothing.
And no, "hurr durr it's a kids show they don't know about Sun and Moon yet" is not an excuse, yes they fucking do. It's 2016 and it's Japan, kids have the fucking internet, they've all fucking seen this. I'd expect them to pull this shit a week after the Direct, not an entire fucking month. This is a new low even for them and you're a shill if you defend this retardation just so you can brag about being right on a Tajikitani macramé board.
This is their revenge for finding out the titles and logos early.
