Now that gen 6 is over, did Fairy type really have as much of an impact as it was suppose to? It was supposed to act as a way to nerf Dragon and, while it did do that a little bit, Dragon is still very popular. Also, it gave an additional buff to Steel-types (perhaps the most used type after Dragon). It didn't really fix Poison-types because Gunk Shot is a common tutor move and renders actual Poison-types obselete. And Bug-types, Grass-types and Ice-types are still shit.

Its impact was being really cute and becoming my new favorite type.
In terms of balancing things, it didn't do anything.
"Let's make Poison-types more relevant by making them super effective on Fairy! But then let's also make one of the best and most-used types in the game super effective against it!"

Dragons are still alive and well, I think it added a good challenge overall. Fairies aren't too OP imho. 6/10 addition.
There's no fixing ice-types.
It got people talking, if nothing else. It's an okay type, but seriously fuck my muscle memory while I played through Y. I can't count how many times I tried using a Dark type move on Mr. Mime or a Fighting move on Clefairy.

I think we simply need more Fairy types to make a call. Maybe an additional adjustment type effectiveness-wise. I maintain that Dark should in turn be SE against Fairy, I like the duality and gives a buff to Dark and that Psychic should resist Fairy.
Also we should have more retypes.

I didn't like any of the new ones, and the fans are pretty annoying. Also should have been weak to bug since my husbando is a bug leader
