I think remakes are only done for handhelds that are 2 generations older than the current one. I think gen 4 would be remade for gen 8, that seems to bwe the pattern right now. Well just get sequels/improve third version this gen, or something entirely else

But that's not true at all. Look at the credits, they're different teams with little to no overlap. The overlap that does exist is people that have extra time (logo designers/etc)

They AREN'T. The core gameplay of the franchise hasn't changed at all. A few minor features isn't an excuse to constantly rehash games. And in some cases the remakes aren't even straight upgrades of the original games. ORAS couldn't even fucking include the BF and it didn't have the customization feature from the game before.

Honestly if they do make another Red and Blue/Green remake I would want them to make Team Rocket more than what they have been, make them more relevant throughout the games. There were many hints in the Kanto games that Giovanni was trying to catch Mewtwo but nothing ever came of it because Red stopped them. They could have it so instead of disbanding Team Rocket after you defeat Giovanni at the Viridian Gym he actually heads off to Cerulean Cave while you go off to the League, and maybe before you challenge Blue/Green for the title of Champion you hear a report of Giovanni causing havoc throughout the region leaving it up to you and your rival to stop him and Mewtwo.

I really like the Sinnoh region and Pokemon, but I really don't want them to remake D/P until there's another huge graphical advance in the games. Updating it to look basically like ORAS would be shit. It's only been 10 years since they came out--give it another 10, really. At least they didn't continue the trend of a new remake each gen and put ORAS out for Gen 5. Hopefully this means they'll continue to make them spread apart: FRLG remakes in Gen 8, DP remakes in Gen 10. That'd be aight.

I think there was a route or two where you needed it before you could progress to a new city. Either way I really hope it never comes back.
Even when they "downgrade" an HM to a TM it usually still has some special use and I wind up attaching it to an HM slave anyway, like Rock Smash in XY. Hell, I'd say Rock Smash is more important in XY than Cut is. Cut is for reaching a Berry tree or an item once, while Rock Smash makes shortcuts, hides items, has special encounters, basically everything.
I hope Cut just gets removed in Sun/Moon since they're no longer using it for actual progression, and I can have one HM slave with Fly/Surf/Waterfall/RockSmash for post-game pokehunting, since Strength's boulders have thankfully been adjusted to one-time puzzles.

You do need defog, because fog halves all moves' accuracy, making that route a fucking nightmare. Thankfully, it's only in three places in the game. Crystal broke the line, everything in crystal should have already been present in G/S. they could have waited longer to just release G/S then giving us the unfinished products, and then a better one down the line instead of a new game.
Emerald is unexcusable. The whole point of R/S is the dynamics between aqua magma, and suddenly you have them work together? Also battle frontier could have been an E-reader add-on or something, its really not that important or noteworthy.
