cause you can get it early game without much effort. Slakoth literally spends all day fucking around in Petalburg Woods. Compare that to Bagon, who can only be found in 10 squares in RSE, or Beldum, which you get one of per game. Those two are incredibly rare.

Dratini and Goomy are available around the half-way point of the game. Also they have an encounter rate of 25% and 10% respectively, compared to Slakoth's 5% encounter rate. The only other non-pseudo aspect about Slakoth is that it evolves at a relatively low level, but I'd say that base stat total is a much more important factor when it comes to determining power-levels of a Pokemon.

It's just like the rest of gen V. Everything evolves at level 95. I sure love using my larvesta until 59 and my tynamo that only learns Tackle, Charge Beam, Spark and Thunder Waver until 39.
