I got enough berries just by picking what was there and using one of each type to make rainbow pokeblocks.

I did it while I was gathering flags. That's it though. Starf berries grow slowly but they make the best rainbow pokeblocks. Contests are too easy. They should make contest stats connected to breeding and IVs somehow.

I will only grow them if they're in one spot. This is one of the few things XY did right.

only in gen 3. it's super fun because there are no gates in hoenn and it really makes the world feel more connected.

It's a really dull and annoying Mechanic. I'm not sure why I still do it.

You just need one of each berry since all the items are restored after a PvP battle or Battle Maison.
There's no need to get a bunch of them.
