What the actual fuck are you supposed to do with this?
fug
put it in your ass
>>25776141
Cactus
>high special attack
Gee, I wonder...
>>25776141
Water it and face it towards the light
>>25776191
>high special attack
>shit in every other stat
>>25776141
Point at it and laugh at it's mexican heritage.
>>25776141
Nothing. Some Pokemon are meant to be bad
>>25776211
Where does that sound familiar? Oh right, every other special attacker!
My non-smartass guess is that it was made before they decided weather effects weren't permanent anymore.
>>25776237
Too slow to outspeed anything
Too frail to survive a hit
It's shit
>>25776141
It has the Hoenn syndrome. Decent attacking stats but horrible speed and defenses.
>>25776255
>Too slow to outspeed anything
Chlorophyll doubles its speed in a Sunny Day. In a permanent sun team it would've been a threat. It might have some niche in a double/triple battle team maybe.
>>25776290
>Requires set up to be viable
It's shit
>>25776141
Dance
It's good in trick room with hazards, baton pass support and a rain setter ass hole!!!!
>>25776255
>chlorophyll
Maractus
Ability: Chlorophyll
max hp/special attack @ sun rock
Sunny day
Growth/Hidden Power Fire
Synthesis/hidden power fire
Solar Beam
You're welcome. Here's another idea that could work as a support in low tier doubles
Maractus
Ability: Storm Drain
Max hp/sp. atk @ leftovers
Acupressure
Ingrain
Giga Drain
Hidden Power (whatever type coverage u want senpai)
It's got Spikes, a Scald immunity, Sucker Punch, Knock Off, Spiky Shield, Wood Hammer. Even though it doesn't do much effectively, it kinda has a unique move pool. If only its ATK and SpA were switched.

"Maractus PU
Overview
Maractus is totally outclassed by other suicide leads due to its mediocre Speed and lack of Stealth Rock, Taunt, Toxic Spikes, or Speed Boost. In particular, Quilladin almost totally outperforms it as a Grass-type suicide lead, and Maractus is also outclassed by other leads such as Whirlipede and Venipede"
Outperformed by a Starter mid evolution lol
>>25776409
I really doubt it would be able to survive long enough to even set up a single sunny day.
>>25776319
Venusaur required weather support in gen 5 to be anything other than dogshit and it was one of the most annoying pokemon in OU.
But sadly weather support is not what it once was. Weather teams were a little annoying but megas are much more stupid to deal with.
>>25776433
>>25776435
He asked what to do with it, these are options. He didn't ask me to make it good lmao, it's like asking what to do with Farfetch'd or Delibird. Actually both of those are better than Maractus.
>>25776473
Delibird better than anything? That seems a little Farfetch'd
>>25776504
He gets power up punch and has the equivalent of over 100 base attack with hustle, ice shard, and destiny bond. Yeah, his stats are dogshit but he at least has the moves to do something. He's probably a little worse than Farfetch'd but definitely better than Maractus.
Have fun playing a children's video game
>cute dancer Pokemon
>Sp. Atk orientated
>has a significantly better physical movepool
>doesn't even learn Teeter Dance
At the very least, it's cute. I'd keep one as a pet.
>>25776616
>a little worse than Farfetch'd
What a piece of shit.
>>25776191
>>25776191
>slow
>fragile
>shit movepool
literally a death sentence for any pokemon.
and it's not like this is once or twice, Gamefreak does this to A LOT OF POKEMON!
If a pokemon is going to be slow and fragile, or have stats that are just all barely below average, at least give it an amazing movepool.
>>25776290
Literally every Chlorophyll user is better, by eaither having stats to abuse the double speed or a good movepool.
Use it on a Gen 5 sun team. The loss of perma sun took a hit on it's effectiveness this genEven though it was massively outclassed as a Chlorophyll user anyway
>>25776141
all 3 abilities are usable on maractus, despite its odd stats it manages a semi-decent movepool with options for all 3 move types
>>25776141
Waifu it
>>25776409
i second acupressure maractus
formidable opponent
>>25776141
Waifu for Cacturne
>Fall in love with Maractus on first sighting
>Look up competitive viability
>Weep
Every single Gen.
>>25776616
>>25776784
Delibird has spikes and destiny bond, it can at least set up a hazard and maybe even kill something. All Farfetch'd would do is pull off some weak crit attack on a wall.
>>25776211
>106
>high
I never use it but it has water absorb.
I've come up with the idea of having a Maractus and Ninetales in doubles, where the Maractus uses Skill Swap on the Flash Fire Ninetales and now you have a fire-immune Maractus and water-immune Ninetales
It still sucks though
>>25777383
>Hits harder than Lugia
>Not high
>Thinks the flower blooming in sun mechanic is a great and beautiful idea
>In practice it is actually a shitty mechanic and too niche
I really wanted to use it but using a turn/switch to bring out the sun wasn't really worth it for me.
They gave it shit stats for its mega to improve.
>>25776433
Meganium is outclassed by defensive Grass-types such as Tangela as a physical wall, Roselia as a special wall, Quilladin for utility, and Gourgeist for its typing and physical bulk. It also faces competition as an offensive Grass-type from Leafeon and Sawsbuck, limiting Meganium to a support role. Meganium's defensive sets lack offensive presence as well, making them vulnerable to setup sweepers such as Raichu and Ninetales. Its mono-Grass typing gives it many common weaknesses in the tier, which hinders Meganium's defensive capabilities. Its abilities, Overgrow and Leaf Guard, don't help much. Overgrow is only useful for powering up Giga Drain when Meganium is already at cripplingly low health. Meganium is also highly vulnerable to Taunt.
Does Quilladin just shit over the rest of grass PU or what?
>>25777502
Snubbull hits harder than Registeel. Pokemon is fucked up.
>>25776211
Oh gee it's not like it has Chlorophyll or anything.
>>25777472
That's super fun.
>>25776211
>chlorophyll
What's the point of bad Pokemon that don't evolve into something good existing
Might as well have not added them.
>>25776141
Shit but whateverMaractus
Modest Nature
Chlorophyll
Focus Sash
-Solar Beam
-HP Rock
-Endeavor
-Growth/whatever the fuck you want
>>25777502
>using a pokemon known as a wall as an offensive benchmark
>>25777549
I've tried it in current VGC next to Primal Groudon, since the 1.5x Atk and SpDef in sun apply to allies as well, but it just isn't useful enough :/
>>25777610
Uding chlorophyll as an argument for Maractus is like using swift swim for Luvdisc. It's still shit.
>>25776629
Why are you even here?
>>25776629
>>25776191
"""high"""
Compare it to, say, Roserade which has BST +64, SpA +19, SPE +30, SpD +38, a second STAB, and more interesting abilities.
>>25777383
Yes, it is.
Tell me, why isn't Grass resistant/immune to Fairy? It would be a good way to nerf the strongest type in game, and buff one of the worst.
>>25776426
Oh ok, so basically Cacturne, but worse.
>>25776191
>physical moveset
You were saying?
>>25776141
Kiss it.
>>25776141
Use it as a decent enough Grass-type option ingame. Not everything has to be minmaxed.
>>25776141
hug it gently
I find it hilarious how people try to defend Maractus. You litterally can't do anything with it even with sunny day set up because it still gets outsped by everything.
>>25776141
I just realized how much Weavile fucks this thing sideways.
>>25776141
Marry it.
>>25780726
Someone outta get this translated, because now I'm curious.
>>25777760
>grass/poison becomes even better
>MegaVenu banned to Ubers
>>25780726
I bet it's a boy.
>>25776141
kill it with fire
>>25777347
also has both Rapid Spin and Defog, and Freeze Dry to fuck with Water types
>tfw great moveset but stuck with shit stats
>>25776433
>Whirlipede
A basic stage bug outclasses it?
>>25780883
Yes, and?
>>25776141
i use with worry seed and the ability how absorb water and raise the sp. attack
>>25777777
i dont think so do
Pray to RNJesus.
