This series has always been casual and easy as fuck, and dropping gameplay features has been a thing throughout the whole series because it's unrealistic for them bring back everything

That much has been obvious. It's more the fact that they're so adamant on keeping it casual regardless of the fact that people want it to be more difficult. If a game is hard, the player can get better. No one benefits from making a game easier, except for maybe something like shiny hunting.
XY did do a lot of improvements. It was one of the better games in improving the series. Trainer customization, full 3D, adding a battle mechanic like Mega evolutions to keep the meta fresh, and things like Amie and better wifi capabilities.
It's the execution that's upsetting. Adding trainer customization into a game, then removing it because "it was inspired by France". They keep certain features in certain regions just so people buy them.
Other things like keeping all of the games code in the demo of ORAS was amateur. That and their code appears sloppy anyway, with unused features and events just placed anywhere.
Their 3D is mediocre, with so many small things that could fully benefit the game like lowering the poly count or using LODs. The lag in battles is pretty embarrassing and you can barely use 3D for a game on the 3ds.
That and what appears to be their lack of providing a game that could be a truly polished, well immersed game because of bad direction.
I'm no expert at making games, and I understand that GF can't provide everything that fans want. Maybe I like Pokemon too much and it aggitates me seeing how much it could be and how little it is.

The whole concept of GO seems like something that cant go wrong regardless of what you do with it. When we were kids, we liked to pretend we could find pokemon hidden in different places, so this game could capitalize in evoking that feeling, right? And with the added bonus of being accessible to anyone with a phone.
It takes a special kind of retard to fuck up such a neat concept in every single way. Done properly, this shit would've been undoubtedly better than the shitty PokeMMO proposals we've gotten. I would've shelled out mad bux for this. I am legitimately mad right now.

That's a shame. Just read his opinions on it and it's exactly like mine. It seems to be the general response to this game.

No one expected a full fledged game. They just want to catch and train Pokemon. Battling 1v1 has always been inportant. Catching a Pokemon that will grow to be your best friend in your most intense battles was always important.

It's what Niantic and existing Ingress fans wanted. GameFreak having some of the latter is, again, what allowed this to happen.
That really makes me wonder who this game is really going to appeal to, though. Kids will download it and not play it for long because it's too different from what they and requires IRL exploration. Older pokefags already largely showed the gameplay is a major turnoff and won't bother with it in significant numbers. Ingress players will try it out of brand loyalty, and may or may not stick with it, but I have a hard time believing they'll be enough to sustain it long term.
This isn't a Candy Crush type thing like Shuffle is that has wide appeal and access, so how is this meant to really work out?

nothing to do with the game. Ingress and parallel kingdom both have the same detection if you've got a phone newer than 2011, and parallel kingdom came out in like 2010.
the issue with GO (& ingress) is you need to physically move around to catch pokemon, and like 80% of the world is so open and spaced out that only japan and like maybe NYC will benefit from this.

You can't even grind for longer than a few minutes since you only have five hearts per 2.5 hours, so you need to carry your DS everywhere and whip it out several times a day to feed your addiction if you want to earn coins somewhat efficiently.
Shuffle is literally a game designed for addicts. It's not fun, it just motivates you to play more via the same methods as slot machines or Pachinko machines.
