Not really, after Korrina we had the Clemont Gym Battle as the big thing coming up as the big character event. Shota was introduced in this time but lets not talk about him. There was definitely a lull after the Clemont Gym finished, however its gone right back up to 11 with the Mega Evolution specials and Main series intersecting and Ash seemingly going to be having a MUCH more active role in the evil team plot-line this time around than he has ever had in the past.

To be honest, the Flare plot so far has been quite awful. Puni-chan this, Puni-chan that. And the Team Flare grunts running around after it battling everyone in their way, that pretty much sums it up.
The Team Flare episodes so far have not been nearly as good as the Team Galactic two parter at around DP96-97. The Flare plot is just so thin and dull at the moment.

Malamar was an awkward conclusion to the interesting setup episode pre-Korrina. It didn't explain shit about anything. Unless it turns out they were Xerosic's and it ties into the Flare arc, the whole thing was a mess.
Goodra's two parter was a terribly animated mess and the whole arc was rushed with its evos. It learns Ice Beam because ??? and it KOs Florges because ??? when it could have learned Iron Tail, going back to the Pikachu inspiration angle.
Olympia's setup episode was an XYZ setup episode. XYZ is where it picked it up again.
Froakie's evolution was also a big poorly animated mess. There was no POTTERY like Fletchling's evo, Ash didn't go after it when it smashed into the rocks, then it learned Aerial Ace because ??? and it KOd a plot-armored rock type because ???
Moltres was pretty good, although the jump at the end was the most forced drama I've seen in this show. I laughed in the Zapdos episode when Ash just recalled Talonflame in the pokeball.
Korrina had actual conflict that didn't feel contrived and resolved in 1-2 episodes.
Korrina and Viola's gyms had the most struggle by far. Grant too with Ash barely winning with a numbers advantage.
Ash's rivals are a joke. Again, no struggle.
Animation is just as dodgy as before.
Fillers are just as fillery.
Like I said, there is less struggle and conflict. It didn't really pick up again until XYZ.

Froakie learning Double Team was an entire episode that built up to it in a logical way. Nothing like that post-Korrina.
Korrina's Lucario literally had four moves that it learns consecutively on level up, with aura sphere being that fifth move. A mega being hard to control is a believable and interesting plot and shows megas in a new light.

Clemont > Korrina > Viola > Ramos > Olympia > Valerie > Grant

It isn't believable because it's interesting. And many saw the korrina arch as the downpoint of XY so because you thought it was interesting doesn't make it interesting. You can do this for literally everything. It's no way to argue and doesn't really counter any arguments at all. It doesn't make it less struggle and it doesn't make it less conflict. It's just general complaints about the show.
The Viola battle has is well animated but reuses a lot of scenes and the CGI could have been better. And the Korrina battle was hardly well animated. It was average.
And Grant was hardly a struggle. He could use 3 pokemon from the start. You can't call it a struggle because he could use more pokemon. If anything it just made it more underwhelming and pikachu hardly had a problem in the end.

A good adaptation uses the source material to its advantage, and these scenes could have easily been done in a way that works with it, like the Iron Tail thing I suggested.

I never complained about Pokemon beating things at a disadvantage on principle. Virtually all the gyms involve that somehow. I just said that post-Korrina, Ash does so too easily and consistently. Again, it doesn't have to be exactly like the games, but there is a point where it's not even believable in its own context. There is such a thing as TOO MUCH plot armor. Lucario learns Aura Sphere because that's its signature fucking move, and it ties into learning to control its spiritual power. Froakie learns Double Team because the plot of XY17, and allows interesting dynamics in battle. Goordra learning Ice Beam doesn't tie into the source material or any sort of plot, it's just a random ass move that saves the day for no reason at all.
The Viola gym doesn't reuse animations a lot, it CREATED a lot of animations that got reused later on. The CGI was far better than Olympia for example.
Again, how the fuck was Korrina average? Name any gym except Clemont's that was better animated.

In a matter of 20 episodes we've been introduced to Team Flare, the two Zygarde Cores, Terminus Cave, the two forms of Zygarde, Alain, Ash-Greninja, Team Flare capturing one of the Cores while the other being with Ash, Team Rocket's inclusion, and a sneak peak at whatever Team Flare's plan is with all the Cores and Cells when Xerosic created Proto-Yggdrasil
The plot and events have been paced way better than that of Team Galactic and Team Plasma's. It's not like we are going 20+ episodes without hearing from them like we did with Galactic and Magma/Aqua

Wow it's almost like the plot revolves around a certain Pokemon.
It's being handled very well. Good pacing, elements being gradually introduced, and build up. They even tied filler into it with the red core seeing humanity's good while the blue experiences its evil.
It's clearly much better planned out than most of the plots in the show, especially the other evil teams.

Still doesn't refute my arguments only because you think so. Own opinions is not making good arguments. I might aswell say that the pokemon in the anime has a different moveset they learn when they level up. And that includes aerial ace for frogadier and ice beam for goodra. But it doesn't matter because this is not how it works in the anime no matter how much you want it to. Source material have them learn it by TM but that doesn't exist. It makes sense that they are able to learn it naturally then.

No it isn't. it's lazy to blame aura for making it go out of control. There is no valid explanation to way it would do that. And it wasn't the power that was the problem. It was just the aura. It just got a too powerful aura.
The korrina gym was only well animated in the Pikachu vs mega lucario fight. It was average besides that. Standard gym battle animation and nothing spectacular.

I'm not saying it's bad at all. It was great. But so was most of the other gym in XY. But anybody can handpick scenes from any gym battle and say the whole gym battle looks like this. The problem is that it was so obvious that they concentrated a lot on the pikachu vs lucario fight and left Hawlucha's fight and to some extent Flectchinder's fight for the worse. But Clemont's gym was consistently great animation, Olympia's gym was consistently great aside from those disgusting CGI beams but had a lot better direcation than the korrina gym. Especially if you look at Ash. The proportions looked so off in many parts of the first half of the korrina battle. That was my trouble with it.
Then again, this is my opinion.
