Did Pokemon in part make you a weeb?
Me, yes.
It was certainly the gateway drug
First one was free.
The rest cost me dearly.

For a while, now its not a big deal. It was beneficial in the end, I learned a little Japanese, got an understanding of free speech and became anti-censorship, and learned a lot more about Japan in general.

Don't forget your wicked sense of humour.

No. I watched Pokemon when I was a kid, now I'm an adult and haven't watched a single anime besides DBZ since.
You had the weeb gene in you all along.
Not really.
I enjoy a lot of japanese IPs, but more often than not, I think anime is weird and confusing, the characters don't act like normal people even in "Slice of life" shows, and I rarely go out of my way to watch anything with subtitles.
I wanted to be one because all of my friends were hardcore anime fans, but the more I tried, the more I realized I just don't like typical weeb shit.
It was a mix of Pokemon and Toonami to be honest.

Nigga that shit one one subliminal message from making child me bomb Pearl Harbour.
The fact they tried to pass off Japanese culture as American, is really weird.
"MAN, THIS JELLY DONUT IS GREAT" Pretty sure it's a rice ball with sea weed wrappings.
"MAN THIS BURGER TASTE GREAT!" Ash, you're fucking sipping miso soup, you cunt.
