Is it still the case in the VC versions of Red and Blue that you can capture a Pikachu in Virdian Forest?
I've been stomping around these woods for almost an hour and I've yet to even see a Pikachu,
They're rare but still in the game. I think they have the same encounter rate as kangaskhan in the safari zone.

If the grass has one of those star shaped flowers or whatever in the lower right, they won't give an encounter. This is only in R/B
