It's a standard jrpg.

Lots of grinding, collecting, battling.
Characters are ok.
Story is alright.

I haven't played the newest DLC but I enjoyed it for what it was. Basically Pokemon and Final Fantasy having a baby and Persona is the godparent.

If you want something to play for a while, it is worth it.

I thought it was pretty good anon. Fairly standard JRPG fare, my main issue is that's it's a bit braindead easy in some parts. (localization added a hard mode, which is of questionable balance)

I'll give them credit for actually making a game for the adults who were kids that grew up with the franchise instead of just for kids.

Aside from the grindy aspect, it was a lot of fun. Plus all the dlc is free.
