I think it's the definitive Kanto and Hoenn experience. It contains many improvements GF has made in later generations (like indoors running, Phys/Special split, following Pokemon, day/night cycles) and also many MMO features (PvP, customizable characters, events...). Not to forget, trade-evolving Pokemon like Kadabra or Onix is easier than ever. You just ask someone to trade it forth and back.
