Considering that it's already been said that these boxes will be just as valuable as any of the new XY Sets in general means that no, you should just open it and get on with it.
Generations cards aren't going to be that valuable
I plan on buying one of each of the boxes and selling it all in one big collectors package. I'll tell you how it goes.

People will expect each individual item to cost less than their standalone cost, since they're buying in bulk. You're just going to end up losing money.

The markup of 10 bucks or so isn't worth having to keep it in your house for years. The Pokemon TCG cards are simply not worth much.
