It is, it's from Sage, which is one of /vp/'s projects, along with Clover and the now dead Aus, though sage's development moved offsite.
Sage goes in all fields.

Central and south ameria generically, there's not a specific geographic spot. as with GF regions, it's just an fictional amalgam of everything south of texas, with most of the region being tropics, desert, or jungle.
The starting town (pic related) resembles the andes a bit, you can see a lot of andean iinfluence in the buildings as well as in the protag's clothing, legato (>>25730433) looks like an old west settlement, adante (>>25730108) is a tropical beach, the city with the 6th gym was conceptualized as being based on the aztec's captial, the 7th and 8th gym towns are both based in the jungle, the 7th being built around ancient ruins, the 8th being basically an amazonian tribe village, etc.

For sage? Only the first gym, it's about 1.5 - 2 hours of content.
We are working on one that goes to gym 3 that should be out soon, your save from the current one probably won't transfer
Though, in GF terms, the amount of content that new demo will have is more like 4.5 gyms worth of content, since our region is like twice the size of hoenn.

27 could be your average grunt, while 7 could be somewhat higher up and have better pokes, but are still just nameless pawns
