I've been playing Fire Red for the first time (it's also my first Pokémon game) and I recently got to Seafoam Cave

There are no words for how frustrated I am at myself right now.
I believe you can catch it again after beating the E4, but google it first.
Don't use savestates you piece of shit, pokemon lets you save anywhere.
And save often, you piece of shit.
This is what you get for not saving before a legendary
That's why I make it a habbit to save before and after every expected encounter or battle.

I'm seriously thinking of going back to before Silph Co, I'm not out to get all 151 but I'd at least like the legendary ones because even without playing a Pokémon game before I know you ALWAYS CATCH THE LEGENDARY POKEMON

I generally prefer Pikachu to Raichu. When I went on bulbapedia to check how to evolve Pikachu (I was pretty sure it was thunder stone, just needed confirmation), the fact Pikachu learns thunder and Raichu doesn't just reinforced my position.
Currently grinding Gastly back up to Haunter now in Diglet's cave, such is my penance.

Once you beat the E4 the first time then you will be stuck forever. That's as far as you can go. Might as well waste the Masterball.
Normally you can do some extra stuff and battle a stronger E4.

I mean, when the Gastly was level 14, half the level of most of my pokemon I felt it was warranted.
I had to grind a bit to get past brock due to only having charmander, pidgey, and pikachu at that point.
