My favorite type is Normal, because I adored Tauros when I was growing up. Also because they're so versatile and hp is nice. Favorite normal type is Tauros. But my favorite pokemon overall isFlareon.
I never really paid attention to it while I was in elementary school, but in middle school I played Pokemon XD and chose the fire stone for my Eevee. Ever since then I've just loved Flareon.

Ghost. Sableye. Yes. I like the gimmickry of a lot of dark-type moves, too, and love pretty much any pokemon that's fast (like Starmie, Beedrill, and Crobat) or can bypass the speed system for the most part (like Sableye and Scizor.) I love Talonflame because she has both, but Sableye is far cuter and the type combination is fun.

I have to say that my favorite type is water. I'm currently starting a new game doing a "gym leader challenge" of my own sort in Y. No hackmons, no EXP share, and no free switch-outs in battles. So, to have my dream team, I'll use the Froakie and Squirtle in game, then get through GPS and Wonder Trade a Marill, Ducklett, Lotad, and a Magicarp.
The best thing is the magicarp I got via wonder trade is the special "Happy Hour" from the Hiroshima Pokecenter event! That will make... her... very special indeed! She will keep her Happy Hour move for sure! A bummer that the Gyarados mega stone is only available in post-game.
