What if Rock and Steel types had a Hardness Rating"? Harder rocks resist Rock type attacks from less hard rocks. Steel types don't universally resist themselves anymore, they only resist Steel attacks from less hard steel types. Non-Rock/Steel types are treated as having a hardness of zero. In addition, Steel is no longer universally Super effective on Rock, it uses the hardness system too.

Tyranitar, for instance is has Sandstone armor, so it would have a hardness of 2. Diancie is made of Diamonds so it would have a Hardness of 10.

So a Tyranitar's Stone Edge wouldn't be very effective against Diance, Diancie's Stone Edge would be neutral to Tyranitar, and Tyranitar would resist Conkledurr's Stone edge (Because Conkeldurr isn't a Rock/Steel type and would have a Hardness of 0). Which rock types would be the hardest? Which Steel types would be the hardest?

How does this sound? Good idea? Bad idea? Retarded and Autistic?
>>
should we follow Moh's hardness scale or just figure it out ourselves isnce a bunch of Rock and Steel types are made of fictional metals anyway? And what about Lucario? It's a Steel type, sure, but where's the metal, and how hard is it?
>>
Rip lucario. The softest steel type.

Its name in Japanese has something to do with orichalum.

clearly the hardest steel type would be my dick

I don't like the idea.

But what about the cleavage?

Pic related. Hardness of 20 I assume?

How about regirock? Its made of random boulders. What would that be?
>>
>>25699255
>(Because Conkeldurr isn't a Rock/Steel type and would have a Hardness of 0)
But it uses concrete pillars, which do have a hardness rating of between 4 and 8 on the Mohs scale (depending on the specific mix)

>>25704493
I'd assume that it would have a variable hardness based on the aggregate hardness of its component boulders.

>cleavage
Don't even get me started on cleavage
