Machamp is awesome. I love seeing people put in work with him. The damage per hit in Pokkén is insane. I'm glad the Power fighters in this game aren't inherently crippled like they seem to be in Smash.

thats how balance works here, if you need to keep them away you actually need to zone them, you can't just run away from them
in smash for some reason they decided if you are a power character you don't have any movement tools as well

Don't get me started on Smash Charizard. I enjoy playing as him, and in 4 he's been steadily improving through patches, but he's still subpar. Sakurai did not create a character that fights like Charizard, he just saw a fat dragon and basically made Bowser with wings. Charizard has pretty quick dash speed, but I would trade most of that for some airspeed and more aerial movement than his pitiful jumps. Just because he looks burly doesn't mean he can barely get off the ground. Rock Smash is still cool, though.

Two reasons why I am apprehensive about this (1) I don't want garbage aesthetics and (2) there are so many very good mons that at this point, most new ones have to be really good, borderline broken to warrant any use. Mega Machamp already exists. It's called Conkeldurr.
I like his rival Conkeldurr more but Machamp became my third favorite to play as in Pokken. He has so many defensive options and surprise attacks and it is just so much fun using him. Chasing scrubs with submission is just hilarious too because they always have no idea how to react and just block after running away for a bit

The worse thing is being called a bandwagon memester for playing Falcon despite owning most of his games and being a fan of the series and even sitting through the anime and watching it back when it aired on TV and even then I switched to Ganon because he feels so fucking right compared to a character that is super similar. Hopefully it doesn't get too bad with Machamp though so I can actually play him without being called a meme lord or some shit.

Most heavies are seen as shit in many games. As a result, they're popular for disrespecting and lower level play.
This becomes far less prominent if the character is actually good though. Birdie and Zangief are both powerful fighters with a variety of options. Sentinel has a surprisingly good combo game, combined with a variety of projectiles. Big Band was designed to be a good version of Q, with copious amounts of super armor and high damage.
Unfortunately, the heavies in Smash aren't strong enough to be seen as a legitimate fighter in the eyes of the community, hence their poor representation.

I do. Helped me win my 3 maison trophies and also in online battles. I tried an OU team with. I was doing okay and reached elo 1304 but then I started losing every battle after that. He really just isn't that effective anymore. AV lets you survive Psychic, Air Slash and Moon Blast but you lose out on recovery. Leftovers and Sitrus gives you recovery but you're gimped against the special moves despite having decent sp def.
I really tried making him work but I dont know man. I guess I'm simply terrible at this game.
