I enjoy using it in doubles for Tailwind, Simple Beam and to take fighting type moves that would land on pokemon you wouldn't want a fighting type move to land on. Good pokemon.

XY and the shitty flying animations ruined Xatu.
I hope they put some effort into Sun/Moon and give all birds a separate animation for non sky battles. And maybe give pokemon like Hawlucha and Gengar new ones to fly with too.

Amazing aesthetically but horrible to train - in HGSS the only damaging move it has until lv42 is Peck, & the only other STAB move it gets is Psychic at a high enough level that you'll have almost certainly got the TM from Saffron by then

I saw someone posting in this thread in the computer lab in the library at CSCC.
Surprisingly decent in a competitive setting. Real glass cannon, but it gets Magic Bounce, which throws people off because they never deal with Xatu.
One of the better Pokemon introduced in Gen 2.
I'm amazed by the number of people that don't pick up that Xatu is a totem pole.
