I just sprinkle in some Sm4sh games in between playing Pokemon on the 3DS
It would only work if they simplified the battle system A LOT. Implementing and balancing 700+ Pokemon with Pokken's system would be a pain the ass.

The good thing about this game is that it'll sell like shit compared to the mainline games and they'll never make shit like this again.
Turn base is a dying system

A real time system would be far more engaging and interesting, especially if they added a laggy switching system to allow counterpicking and what not mid battle, but it would be near impossible to implement.
There's just too many possibiliies. Not only are there over 700 pokemon to balance, but the moves differing. It'd be a nightmare to create.
In a perfect world itd be the perfect game, though.
