So Professor Oak is drunk and I don't know what to do. I replaced the battery, but Yellow won't retain save files and all the sprites are like this.
Anon, I think you did it wrong.

I can't believe there are people who treat their GB carts this badly. OP should be ashamed, how can he treat the mons this way?
I mean, it does play. But everyone's just kinda fucked.

Bought this cart out of some classic gaming store for $25. Check it before my battery replacement.
holy shit guys it's coming back to life!
Or not. Still not saving.

I-is that a Pikachu ear?
Why am I here?
Took the battery out because it's not doing anything anyways. It's a bit too big even though it's the right voltage. Should I put the original back on there?
So I put back in the original battery...

Invest in a battery tester. Something tells me that something other than the battery is wrong with that cartridge.
Something seriously, seriously wrong.
I think Pokemon Stadium 2 agrees
>>25674827
Did you deep clean the contacts? That might help.
>>25675156
I haven't tried that. I'll give it a good soak in rubbing alcohol.
>>25674547
It kind of looks like a city
This is why you should jsut buy it off the eshop.
>>25674827
Well it looks like you have no soldering skills, and that you completely ripped off the two "brackets" that go on top and under the battery. Looks like you won't be able to get a battery working again due to that. Fucking retarded move.
Regardless, the game should play fine, just not save. Like another anon said, try cleaning the contacts with rubbing alcohol on a q-tip. If that doesnt work, you probably fucked up the cart. I can't say for certain since I didn't watch you as you dismantled the cartridge.
If there was anything wrong with the contacts, you wouldn't get past the Game Boy logo.
The save file is used as a graphics buffer, which is why you get garbled images. It seems like the sram chip itself is getting shorted. What happens with no battery?
