While I see what you're getting at, I'm pretty sure happiness is only determined as a hard statistic as a gameplay mechanic, not in the actual story/lore.
i.e. When people measure happiness of Pokemon in-game they something along the lines of "You Pokemon is extremely fond of you!" And it's never shown on any menu that your Pokemon has a Happiness Stat of 52 or something.
