They added inverse and sky battles in gen VI so I don't see why they wouldn't add more battle types in S/M. I just hope they don't suck like the gen VI ones.

Inverse battles has its own metagame where useless Pokemon end up being good and Horde battles aren't great competitively but they're a god-send when it comes to EV training. There were also Sky Battles, but they were shit.
