Primeape is a berserker. That's not really a fighting style but in fantasy it sure is, like books, videogames, tv, etc. It's like Wolverine, The Hulk, or that romanticized image of the mad berserk vikings with giant axes who's injuries only push them to fight harder. Berserker is a class in a lot of RPG's, including Fire Emblem. That's satisfactory to me. It gets stronger with rage and its pokedex entries and natural moveset back this up.

It's all close combat and grappling. Not necessarily trying to toss the opponent around, but to overpower them with a flurry of punches and kicks. MMA fighters will kill their opponent if the referee doesn't stop them.
