The Fairy type is game-breaking and useless, prove me wrongprotip: you can't
>my psuedos aren't OP anymore reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
Fairy type is fine, they should just remove Grass type.
>simultaneously gamebreaking and useless
They Fairy Type is pretty strong
Fairy Type Pokemon on the other hand, well, most them suck
>my stagnant meta got changed and I don't like having to find a new way to push buttons the way smogon tells me too
Go fuck yourself and have some goddamn fun for once in your miserable life.
I feel like I'd hate fairies if I gave a shit about competitive. But I don't.

Literally the only thing I didn't like about Fairy type is that Clefable doesn't get STAB on Hyper Voice anymore.
That's it, that's the only fault I've found with Fairy type.
>>25662098
But this is the first gen where a pseudo has been uber, and it's a dragon type.
>>25662085
Masuda also revealed why the Fairy-type was introduced in this generation after a 14-year drought since Gold and Silver’s Steel and Dark types. He said that many fans preferred to use Dragon-types in tournaments, and that an unequivocal balance was needed within the typing structure.
“This is something we’ve talked about since we released the very first generation of the games, but Dragon-types are strong, and we saw little deviation in the Pokémon that were used, even at tournaments. While we did balance the games for each new title, this time we put more effort into the adjustments, and added a new type that is strong against Dragons.
“We had many candidates for the new type, but in the end, you could say it’s due to a fantasy-like connection, that we went with a plan that involved having ‘a fairy that is strong against dragons,’ and settled with the type name as Fairy.

This.
Just wait until we get a Fairy-type Pseudo and you'll learn just how ridiculous the typing is.
>>25662343
Check gen 4, you're wrong
Fairy is overpowered, the fact that you're forced to run steel and poison offense, the two worst offensive types, just to counter them is a testament to their bullshit.
Once the type gets more and more representation they'll turn into the most over-centralized typing in the game, even more than now.
It's okay but GF failed to realize that what made dragons OP was that they generally have good to high stats and they have usually have great movepools.
>>25662139
butthurt fairyfag spotted
>>25665035
I mean, look at how fucking ridiculous Xerneas is
>three years later and we're still talking about this.
I'm okay with Fairy type, while it does offer some more dynamic play against Dragons, it doesn't too much to stop dragons from dominating the game. You still see Garchomp, Zard-X, Kyurem-B, and Lati@s everywhere.
This is mostly attributed to fairy typing being slapped on pokemon that just generally suck, the only shitmons that rose to greatness thanks to its retcon is Clefable and Gardevoir, and gardevoir needed 100 more Stats in order to make that rise on top of it.
To me Fairy typing is better used as a defensive typing rather than offense, with mons like Clefable and Kelfki able to wall entire teams with what's considered to be just kinda average bulk.
>>25665086
precisely this. i also don't like that they kind of usurped one of ice's biggest roles as dragon-killers so ice types are even more useless. feelsbadman.
>>25665090
I am sorry, but no.
>game breaking
>useless
>>25665122
i'd probably add azumarill to the pile, as well. it wasn't a total shitmon, but it got massively better with the faerie type addition, and having a second stab.
>>25665117
>implying geomancy isn't the only thing keeping Xerneas from being PU trash
Fairy was a good addition. Only problem I can imagine having with it is that it is "different"
>>25662098
>Metagross is my favorite pseudo
>it's even better now with all these fairyfags
>ran a mono-dragon team in a Smogon-OU tournament
>went 3-1
>killed every fairy in my path with ease
>wasn't even running Dragalge
>f-fairy is op guys.....
>7 fairy types in OU, 4 are megas
>12 steel types OU
>Nearly all the big name dragon types remained OU, only difference is they get punished for mindlessly clicking outrage
Please remove faries
>>25666802
>>12 steel types OU
That's to keep all the overpowered fairies in check, dumbass.
>>25666817
And fire types plz
>>25666849
That explains why steel was one of the most ovverepresented types in OU in every generation since it's debut I guess
>>25662085
I don't think it's gamebreaking, at least not yet, I just think it was entirely unnecessary.
Normal and psychic already had the mystical creature thing covered, and they could have just given Dragon a steel weakness to balance them out a bit more(Swords killing dragons and all). That along with ice and just a tad more effort when it comes to balancing would have fixed most of their dragon issues.
But no, just add in a new type immunity for shits and gigs. It's like Gen 2 dark type all over again, only much less effective.
>>25662085
I like it even though there's some overlap with Psychic. A lot of "weird" Pokemon like Jigglypuff and Clefable that were shoved into Normal before feel like they actually fit with Fairy.
>>25666625
it learns close combat

>>25665127
It's not Dragon Pokemon that usurped Ice Pokemon, it's the fact that 105+ non-Ice Pokemon can learn Ice Beam.
>>25667153
I wonder how the meta would have been had Steel been super effective against Dragon since it was introduced
>>25667346
fairy wouldn't be real because there would be no reason to nerf dragon at all since every dragon type would be PU
>>25667153
>tfw bug is your favorite
Bug was on top of the world in gen 4-5. Based as fuck pokes with Volcarona, Galvantula, Escavalier and Genesect. I just wish it had a pseudo and an extra legendary.
>>25665066
Poison and steel aren't useless if you're forced to use them you faggotron. How do people who bitch about fairy creating an imbalance in one breath criticise buffing the two worst offensive types in the very next one?
Water is the best type.
>>25662085
>Dragons
>>25667522
>Poison and steel aren't useless if you're forced to use them you faggotron
>the two worst offensive types
Worst /= Useless, learn to read
As for your other point, he just pointed out how fairy overcentralizes the current meta to the point of making those two types good offensively, I don't think that necessarily makes it overpowered but it definitely causes a shift in balance in fairy's favor since those types have only a few other uses outside countering fairies that other types can't do better.
