Mega Gallade is just disappointing. It gets a cape, its outfit turns white, and its elbow-swords get bigger. Not to mention that it's bland from a stat standpoint too; its ability isn't particularly useful at all, and it just gets higher stats. It continues to be nothing more than a weaker version of Meditite with no reason to obtain it at all, especially when you could just turn it into a Gardevoir instead.

What is it even supposed to be? A tiny skirt? Why does it have to have a donut around its waist? It doesn't look like clothing, it just looks like there's something horribly wrong with it.
And then there's the ability. I mean, I guess it's nice that it doesn't flinch, but there is no point in time where flinching is such a big deal that you should get a mega JUST to counter it, especially when so many other useful megas with useful abilities exist.

About the design, I don't think it's disappointing, it really fits together with M-Gardevoir, Megas are more about subtle design changes, so I'm pretty satisfied with M-Gallade because it's a more cool than the regular Gallade (btw I think that the visual changes are more impactful in the in-game).

I never had any problem with the "hips", Garde fags in general seem to dislike Gallade just because of that, I personally think that the hips are like that for a "balance" of the design. Gardevoir is like a stick figure, but it has the dress for balancing the silhouette, Gallade is like a Gardevoir without dress and a blade in the arm, but without the dress the design would be rather "simple", just a stick figure, so they added more "volume" in the hips just like gardevoir has a dress. ...This makes sense, given that Glalie japanese name includes "Oni" and it has horns and others details, it does looks like a Oni mask.
Glalie is certainly one of my favorites Hoenn mons, I think that M-Glalie would look a bit better if he had big pointy fangs, like a oni mask (it would be more scarier, too).
