2. Psychic's weaknesses can all be rationalized pretty easily. Its weak to Ghost because Psychics have a higher degree of "awareness" than non-psychics, and so are more vulnerable to supernatural influence. The weakness to Dark is two-fold, firstly because Dark tends to be based around deception and trickery which targets Psychic's mental-based powers, and secondly Psychic's mental/spirtual awareness makes them highly vulnerable to the evil/malice associated with Dark types (ie Dark Pulse). The relationship with Bug could be based around the common phobia of insects, the perception of insects as being too simple creatures to mentally influence or as being part of a hivemind, or even something simple like a bug's annoying noises disrupting concentration.

Nidoran F is the only Pokémon (or at least was) that could produce an egg from outside its evolution line. I assume there was a last minute code fudge they had to do that meant something like if they let Nidorina breed, it would end up laying Nidoran M or Nidorina eggs.

Dark moves make it more related to underhanded and deceit rather than just the nebulous concept of dark, psychic can't control what it can understand
Same goes for ghost, Psychic Pokemon are intelligent, so they collapse in the face of something so unknowable and overwhelming

Bigger question why were they made weak to bug/ghost in Gen I without adding any decent bug/ghost moves/pokemon. Lick, leech life, pin missile and twin needle on pokemon most of whom are x/poison.Then there's the whole shtick of ghost being physical type with special pokemon and vice versa with dark in gen 2
