Why wasn't Primal Kyogre an Ice type?
>>
>>25655705
Why would it be?
>>
>>25655705
Shit type
>>
>>25655705
Mega Kyogre is Ice/water (type).
>>
>>25655760
Primal Groudon's a Fire type. Kyogre has the color white as a staple part of its design. If Groudon is the hot, molten land, then it Kyogre should be the cold, stormy sea.
>>
>>25655816
Plus it doesn't really make sense that Kyogre is the only one of the weather trio without a secondary typing.
>>
>>25655816
Early Earth was lava -> Ground/Fire

Then came rain -> Water
>>
>>25655816
White color does not an Ice type make.
>>
>>25655785
Give it a weather aura that blocks rocks and fighting moves
>>
>>25655705
>>25655705
Should have be Water/Electric. Yeah, it would be Pdon bitch, but lore wise it would make sense.

Also, DEM Thunders.
>>
>>25655816
Togekiss is my favorite Ice pokemon.
>>
>>25655816
>color white as a staple part of its design
Guys Furfrou is now Ice and Dark (has the color black as a staple part of its design)
>>
>>25655940
I know, the white on Kyogre is probably meant to signify white ocean waves anyway.

It's still a battle of hot vs cold. I really feel it should be part Ice, living on the cold ocean floor and being the demigod of the sea or whatever. Ice is just another form of water.
>>
>>25655955
Ehh, intruding on thundurus's domain.
>>
I mean... It makes as much sense as Groudon suddenly gaining a Fire typing. It's red and it has Fire type attacks in its natural moveset.
Kyorgre has Ice Beam and Sheer Cold.
Then again, Hoenn is tropical so its seas probably aren't particularly cold, so...

There is literally no reason why Primal Kyogre shouldn't be Water/Electric.
>>
>>25655705
>Not Water/Electric
>>
>>25655955
>>25656090
Yeah OP, definitely Water/Electric before Water/Ice.
>>
>>25656040
Deep ocean would be pretty cold presumably
Hoenn has a really wide range of temperatures though

>>25655705
The Primordial Sea wasn't made of ice.
>>
>>25656102
The ocean almost can never go below 0' though, so Ice is a non-issue.
>>
>>25656035
Only Hoenn and Sinnoh's legendaries have domains outside of their regions.
>>
>>25656119
>not bajeebers
>>
IIT: everybody disagrees with OP.
>>
>>25656219
Well, ice itself is a type that doesn't make much sense since it is literally frozen water. It would be like having a magma or lava type. I know magma/lava =/= fire, but fire already sort of fulfills its role (see typhlosion, camerupt, eruption, etc)

Kyogre literally makes it start raining when it comes out, and P-Kyogre turns the rain into basically a storm, so it being Water/Electric would make sense, even more sense.

I think the main reason they didn't do it was because it would get completely destroyed by P-Groudon (not that it doesn't now, but it would make the advantage be even more ridiculous)
>>
>>25656124
However, water came to this planet from ice on meteorites.
>>
>>25656035
Thundurus is literally outright copying Zapdos.
>>

Never realized this. The hell, gamefreak?

Well there's nothing in the Pokémon world that suggests that.
>>
>>25656342
And Landurus is literally copying Gliscor
>>
>>25656040
>Groudon suddenly gaining a Fire typing.
Groudon representing the earth.
The earth having magma within it.
Magma producing heat and fire.

While kyogre represents the seas.
The seas that melt ice.
>>
>>25655705
Probably the same reason why most Water-type Pokemon aren't also Ice-type. Also it would be a death sentence.

I thought it would have been Water/Electric since Cave of Origin and the animation for Primordial Sea have electric sparks.
Primordial Sea/Desolate Land would have to be reworked to prevent Fire and Ground/Water and Electric moves so that Kyogre doesn't get completely BTFO by being an Electric type.

Kyogre really got fucked over in ORAS.
>>
>>25658946
As a casual pleb who barely played ORAS, can you explain why?
>>
>>25659055
Kyogre didnt get fucked over, groudon got a buff. Primal Groudon is easily the second best pokemon in the game now, only second to Mega Rayquaza
>>
>>25655705
Why is Kyogre such a bro?
>>
>>25658842

Most of /vp/ is composed of newfags who weren't around for BW2's hype train.
>>
>>25659055
Half it's Primal buff got put into it's unused attack stat

Primordial Sea makes something it already resisted ineffective, while Groudon loses what would be a x4 weakness, leaving it with one weakness

But it still looks cooler than Groudon
