The remixed gym themes were so memorable simply because they were so different and you could immediately pin-point the general atmosphere of the gym leader and their style. N's room would not have been nearly as off-putting if it wasn't for the dissonant music box theme. While I don't think Alder's champion music fit him much, it's perfect as a battle theme for the Subway Masters instead.

Anyway my two cents on the matter is that while it's new the region design and overall content falls flat unless you like bike sims. So unless you're eager for a new story to the point where you don't care for the quality go with ORAS every time just because it has a fair bit of content over X and Y via secret bases and contests as well as the new megas.
