Is there any chance of traditional cross-gen evolutions returning or is it just going to be megas from here on out?

Still pissed off that Garchomp, Tyranitar, Mewtwo, and Rayquaza got Megas. At least Mewtwo's Megas have good designs.
Megas should be reserved only for Pokemon with low stats who need buffs, or starter Pokemon. Anything else is overkill fanservice. The day Charizard was revealed to have TWO Megas, was the day I lost a lot of respect for Game Freak.
