Gen 6 can't compare to gen 5 and Sun/Moon aren't coming out until the end of the year. BW2 are better than BW so I'd say it's worth getting.

Most if not all Pokemon games you can beat within a few days, Sun and Moon aren't coming out until at the latest December, you have plenty of time to play through B2W2, X and Y, AND ORAS between now and then.

BW2 is such a great game I'm actually looking to buy a used copy to replay. It is also very enjoyable after playing the prequel because 1.there's plenty of changes, it feels like a new game 2.you can link your BW file and have many tidbits mentioning 'you' thorough the game.
