this is thee bread for all things romhack,
It would be fun to make my own romhack, but the whole process of devoting my time to the learning and creation of it wouldnt pay off
its fun to play some completed hacks though
op here i just rethought my post (im stoned af) It would be way worth it to create a pokemon game because i have exquisite ideas to be implemented. I want to attempt to balance the types
mwahahahaha...
current light platinum team, forgot to save and lost a lot of progress, so this is the first time i have played in a few weeks

Is this from some hack made before the BW localizations where the hacker just made up names, or something else?

You may be retarded

Looks like Snakewood, most likely.
I posted this Gen 2 Littleroot cover in an earlier thread about hacks but in case the anon who wanted it didn't see it, I'll post it again.

Also just finished this Hoenn Gym Battle cover, suggested by a different anon. It just got finished a few moments ago so if anyone has any criticisms for me to use to improve it, now's the best time.

Is it bad that I have more fun making music that I probably won't put in the hack than I do working on actually hack-relevant stuff? Feels like whenever I try to do something to progress the hack itself I just break things that take hours to fix.

God damn it's good to hear music that actually uses the proper 8-bit soundfont rather than the Mega Man one all youtube covers use.

I assume you mean it's good to hear handheld music done in GB style instead of NES style, in which case I agree, though I don't mind NES covers when appropriate. It's actually kind of frustrating because I know some of my covers are mediocre or worse (XY Gym Leader is probably the worst) but then I look at the products other people have made and it's all worse by a good degree usually; most of the time it's not even proper 8-bit, whether GB or NES, it's just chiptune.

This isn't how you make /heg/ threads, OP.
Anyway check this new meme out.

Why did you have to throw a positive one in there, I was close.

In the vein of this, I started the Magma/Aqua Leader battle theme, but I can't give it that rush I want. No matter how I try, I can't help but feel the track is empty.

Any suggestions on how I can try to fix this?
for those who want to hack, someone wants to biuld a new map editor better than amap (hint: in case someone thinks it, im not the creator). so if you have suggestions onto how to add features and stuff that can make hacking easier, pls do it there
