Diamond was the first Pokémon game I ever owned at the age of about 13-14, because I never had them as a younger kid for some reason. I'm kind-of nostalgic for them in a way but still probably more nostalgic about gen 1 and 2 just from watching the anime as a kid.
Still, D/P to me had a better region and plot than R/S, and probably the best set of starter Pokémon on balance. I really don't see why it gets so much shit. And the Pokétch was great.
Not nostalgic, as it's my least favorite main games...
But I hope they will make some kind of remake that would explain a bit better the origins of Arceus and its actual role in the pokeworld ? I can't care less about zygarde and shit, I wanna know what's up with the GOD of all pokemons.

Haha, those games sucked, in my opinion! Gen 4 was probably the one I played the most! It was the culmination of the classical Pokemon games (I'm not a big fan of the 3d models! I know it's a long shot but i'd love if they'd made another 2d game and push the possibilities to the limit, haha!)
Gen 3 and 4 were the highest point of the game series for me. I can say I wont be buying the Gen 5 remakes for shure, haha!

I'd like a sinnoh remake, but only if they fix some shit like type distribution and E4 teams.
When they get around to remaking it, I hope they do things better overall. The underground needs to be more relevant (actually make it worthwhile, not just a dumping ground for fossils and stones), defog needs to be an early TM, not an HM, or scrap the fog route entirely (sorry, but flash 2.0 with faggot miss mechanics was infuriating.)
Make the postgame longer (only Heatran and Cresselia IIRC, plus the frontier. The rest was literally only battles vs random trainers, no different from any other postgame. We need something meatier.) Make the frontier more interesting (I quickly got bored of almost all of them.)
Make the radar easier to chain with but harder to get shinies with (so that with the shiny charm you break even with the old mechanics, encouraging people to actually fill the dex rather than simply shortcut to shiny hunting.)
Would be nice to decouple the gym order from the story a bit too - barring the lake events there was no real reason to enforce the order so strictly. Having the choice to do a few gyms out of order would be a breath of fresh air.
Upgrade the poketch so that it has app mode (step counter etc) and amie/super training mode. Cut out the useless modes and merge the dupes (like map, berry map, etc could merged with a simple toggle between them on the same screen.)
Fix the pokemon distribution like Plat did, but break the remake rules a bit and allow gen 5 and later pokes at low encounter rates in hard to reach areas for the local dex, with selected trainers using out of region pokes.
Also keeping soar from ORAS would be amazing.
I have more, but a lot of these changes would make it undeniably the best remake.

If they add more variety to the Sinnoh dex I don't see why it would be as bad as ORAS. Diamond and Pearl's greatest weakness were their dex.
Anyway, Gen IV got me back into Pokemon, so I'm definitely a bit biased, but I have huge respect for Sinnoh. It's an awesome region with a huge fucking mountain at its center that actually felt like an obstacle- and outside of that, both sides of Coronet felt varied and rather large. The huge island post game was really cool (though there could have been just a bit more to do there), and it had some great music. I would welcome a remake, but then again, I'd just as easily go back and play the originals, since they're not really all that dated.

Because everything of interest was done better in previous games when it came to DP. There was next to nothing of actual worth in the game.

Even though a bunch of retarded shitters bought the meme. Gen 4 was probably the best Pokemon generation in ages, and it's the reason why so many fans came back to Pokemon in the first place. It did what Gen 3 did not, it added a bunch of fun features that were not available, it brought back day/night, a large region that focused on exploration, and online trading. It could have been the last generation of Pokemon and I would have been happy with it. All the downsides it did have were fixed by Platinum.
Also, the music brings back some serious nostalgia of when I used to play it and the glory days of 4chan.

I agree on Platinum and HGSS, still playing Platinum more than any other game, Gen 1 was painful and Gen 2 barely had replayble content, Gen 3 is shaky but still stands, Gen 4 is overall the most challenging, at least Platinum is and so is HGSS rematch league but the lack of dexnav damaged it. Gen 5 are easily the least played games with Gen 1, once completed the short postgame in BW I have found hard times giving myself reasons to touch these games again, while BW2 basically improved Gen 5 a lot (basically were the Gen 5 games in the end) but still missed something, Pokewood was terrible and PWT was being a sugar coated battle tower, ok games but didn't conquer me.
I do play Gen 6 as well but still missing the dexnav, ORAS used the battle seeker too but it was limited only to one trainer class rappresentant only even if their final teams aren't that bad.
Also suddenly urged to play Platinum for the trainer battle into (eye contact), 10/10 tracks including Cynthia's piano. Not to forget the jazz sounds of other locations in Sinnoh, many are just god tier.

The enviroment was one of the main focuses of the game, it did infact introduce new evolution methods and other related content to highlight it too. While for the swamps there were shortcuts where you weren't sucked in. Also liked the way the snow slowed you down, the northern islands of Japan are mostly known for their snowstorms / blizzards and nature, especially rich in unique flower species, Shaymin's location was based on one of those islets.
