I can remember my very first team from red but I can't remember my team from Black. I spent way more time with the older games and had an actual "bond" with my pokemon as a kid. Of course I can remember them.
I just found out that the gen one games have an internal battery and if it dies, your save file dies with it. Well, what can you do? I'm just glad they lasted THAT long. 10 years ago this would have crushed my soul.

That Parasect was in Soul Silver, IIRC it spent most of the game with Cut/Spore/powders, then got Cross Poison and Solar Beam near the end. He was the weakest link on the team but I couldn't bring myself to drop my favorite gen1 mon.

In my case is a shit fanfiction i thought some years ago, months before the release of X. All the males sans the BW one are the same trainer, only possible with "hoopa time-space fuckery".
Right now im deciding if i conserve the glitched mew or not.
Gen I is fuzzy, so I just picked the things I usually would use. I remember everything else quite well.
Some of these were really hard to narrow down to just 6 Pokemon.
Maybe I misunderstood the point of this, but these are the teams I'd go with based purely on each Gen, up to Gen 4 it was just starter, plus legendaries since I was a kid, especially in Gen 1, it was just the birds, mewtwo, pidgeot, and venusaur.
But yeah this is what my teams would be given no version exclusives and only restricted to those gen pokemon, which made it hard.

Not him, but I did the same thing up to Ruby. In Gen II and III they basically just hand Legendaries to you, so I just used them because they were cool and powerful. I probably would have in Gen I, but there were no mandatory, scripted Legend encounters so I probably just missed them.
