I just had a random thought - what if they changed the team preview to each player chooses 3 pokes from the opponents team, both players use those 3 pokes (obviously the player that owns the pokes uses the 3 the opponent choose for them.)
How would it change the meta to have a hard limit on pokes (3) and have no control over what your team is, but full control over your opponents?
I can imagine all the new surprise sets, surprise leads, etc would completely change everything we know about meta battles.

there's a million different iterations of this exact type of thing, and that's not to say that i don't get incredibly lucky too. randbats takes a game that's already burdened by heavy use of rng and makes it even more reliable on luck/chance. it's infuriating to play competitively.

Quit being a little bitch OP and everyone else in this thread. This metagame is shit yet however, the same players win. Think about why that might be, and even big six loses often to other players using different things such as rayogre or dialga ogre or Groudon Yveltal.

You can either predict the setup and whirlwind their sorry ass away, keeping both your sturdy and red card intact, or set up rocks, survive the intended OHKO, and laugh as they're phased out anyway.

Use Stealth Rocks on a turn where you will survive a hit. Red Card will phase them out, so it's like SR + Whirlwind in one turn.
