Released over 14 fucking years ago, this little beauty cost me 3500 dollarydoos, with 700 on top of that just for import tax!
It's been on my bucket list to own one of these babies, and the longer i let it wait, the harder it will get.
I'm a 21 year old university student at the moment in australia, and i had to get a loan from the bank just to afford it.
I work enough to pay it off weekly for 5 years and i live with my parents so i'm sitting comfy here.
All my friends told me i'm crazy, and i whole-heartedly agree. But who the hell wants to live a boring life?
I plan to keep it for a few years and re-sell it for double (or higher) once it gets impossible to find.
The only time i will ever consider myself worthy to open it for myself is if i graduate university in a year.
I figured why the fuck not, since it's the 20th aniversary of pokemon after all!
But in the meantime, i will enjoy this piece of pokemon history as it sits on a pedestal in my battlestation.

Well since I work with Trading cards and all that junk, I can assure you they actually do go high in price if not a bit higher. Still though, most remain forever in limbo given the insane price and remained stale like that for a long while now. So it's a big gamble. Especially if OP believes he can resell it in a few years for double or higher when the price of other ones will remain the same since it's not like it's top in demand, selling slow as molasses.OP is also fucked if the TCG company ever consider rereleasing it like they plan with the original base set for the 20th anniversary before he can sell this one

The price value resides in its rarity as a whole. Rereleases for any TCG can cause damage towards the value of stuff like this. Ive seen solo cards, booster packs, and booster boxes drop or plummet in price just because of reasons like rereleases or even simple special box sets that contain cards from these older sets. OP's original may still hold some superior value in comparison but it will still take a massive hit.

If you open that box or any of the packs, the value will be destroyed. DO NOT DO IT. It's value comes from being intact.
Also, Legendary Collection does not have the same mythical status of Base Set 1 Shadowless. Getting them PSA graded is going to cost you more than it would be worth and make it even harder to sell. You already need to get lucky to sell it in the future, don't cripple your chances by opening that box.

Do you think it's worth it to buy a shadowless box and open every single pack? Back then they didn't have a standard way of including x number of commons/uncommons/etc per pack so it's a huge gamble, correct? And then the box might have unlimited packs in there too right?
I'd love to have a complete set of shadowless cards but it would suck ass if I bought a box and got every card except Charizard, who would then make me pay another large sum of money to get him.

i've seen many "shadowless/traingle error" boxes go for literally half the price of this one.
so i got the impression that this one is more valueable. the individual packs sell for more too (and there's LESS of them out there).
after scouting these for a good year, i've come to the conclusion that since this one is harder to find, i desire it more.
it's mostly a personal thing, so my own greed justifies opening it if i ever do want to. but for the time being, i'm just enjoying it.
