why is not electric type instead rock?
>>
>>25595202
Before it was fossilized it was Ice & Electric.

because all fossils must be rock

Sandshrew learns Poison Sting, why isn't it Poison type?

This concerned me a great deal as a kid because the box for Blue version had Sandshrew using Poison Sting.
>>
>>25595212
thats some neat headcanon
>>
>>25595245
Yes all fossils are cursed to be rock types, if there was no rock then the fossil typing would be.

Kabuto/Kabutops-Bug/Water
Omanyte/Omastar-Water
Aerodactyl-Dragon/Flying
Anorith/Armalddo-Bug/Water(because the Anomalocaris was a marine creature)
Lileep/Cradily-Water(I have no idea why the fuck a crinoid is grass type)
Cranidos/Rampardos-Normal
Shieldon/Bastiodon-Steel
Archen/Archeops-Norma/Flying
Tirtouga/Carrcosta-Water
Tyrunt/Tyrantrum-Dragon
Amaura/Aurorus-Ice
>>
>>25595306
>Rampardos - Normal
i cannot see it being any type other than dragon or rock
>>
>>25595306
>cranidos
>normal
C'mon my man. It attacks with the head as its main weapon. It's obviously rock.
>>
>>25595202

it would have been glorious

this is now my headcannon

u wat?

Fine Dragon.

>idk why a crinoid is a grass type

Cuz it sits on the floor and looks like a plant
>>
>>25595202
>why is not electric type instead rock?
Auroras are electromagnetic-related phenomena
>>
>>25595361
I stand corrected.
>>
>>25595365
But crinoids are echinoderms(something like a starfish) not plants. Plants are another kingdom of life fuck gamefreak.
>>
being a electric type it could be competitive
>>
>>25595361
There's a big difference between some nigger bull and a lizard which smashes its head into things
>>
>>25595254
Some shrews have a venomous bite, but Sandshrew is barely a "shrew" anyway, so whatever
>>
>>25595386
GF doesn't care about real biology, if it looks like a plant it's a plant to them.
Just look at all the Grass typed mushrooms.
>>
>>25595413
I dont blame them you cant really create moves using fungus alone. However animals are nothing like plants at all.
>>
>>25595361
it's mostly about the colors, Rampardos has that grey body that reminds you of rock when brown things like Bouffalant just screams normal (not like that's the case for any pokemon)
>>
>>25595361
Bouffalant fights with his hair, not head.
Signature move is called Afro Break.
>>
>>25595390
>>25595333
Youre missing the fact that its literally got a rock on its cranium
>>
>>25595306
I challenge this. You say all fossil Pokemon gained Rock typing as part of being fossilized?

They were rock types all along, their bodies were made of living rock like Rhydon or Solrock. Instead of their dead bodies slowly being fossilized and replaced with other matter over time, the "fossil" we find is just their original rock body. The machine that brings them back to life is basically like a super-powered version of the healing machine from the Pokemon Center. It's just healing a Pokemon that fainted millions of years ago that never healed, but never deteriorated eithet.
>>
>>25595667
>eithet
either*, god dammit I saw it right as I hit Post
>>
>>25595386
They're crinoids with plant-based abilities, just like how Treecko is a gecko with plant-based abilities as well.
>>
>>25595202
Why doesn't this fucking thing learn Power Gem?
>>
>not rock/dragon
FUCKING DROPPED

seriously, why put ice on anything? it's a death sentence and you're missing out on a chance to introduce an unused type combo.
>>
>>25595882
>unused
>>
>>25595886
they were introduced in the same gen, why does 1 get good typing, stats, moves, and abiltiies but the other gets dogshit?
>>
>>25595916
Why does GF do any of the stupid shit they do?
>>
>>25595916
Tyrantrum isn't even good. It's RU.
>>
>>25595202
probably because the aurora borealis is created by electromagnetism
>>
>>25595923
It's outrageously better than its counterpart, has 2 good abilities, huge coverage, good strat distro, etc...It could reasonably sweep in almost any tier with DDance, and can actually get a turn to setup with its typing/stats. Just because it's not Scizor doesn't make it not good.
>>
>>25595956
Aurorus has fairly good moves outside of lacking Power Gem, the abilities are decent as well.
Its only problem, although a big one, is that the typing and stats match horribly.
>>
>>25595436
As a fellow taxonomyfag... let it be anon... let it be.
>>
>>25595956
>Tough Jaws
>Good ability
Honestly fuck Gamefreak for not giving Tyrantrum an actual useful ability.
>>
>>25595557
>associating colors with type

Do you think magikarp and scizor should fire types?
>>
>>25595850
because gems are created by treating crystals which are created by magmatic activity aka super high temperatures underground and Aurorus is literally an icy sky dinosaur
>>
>>25595995
>100 BP Fire/Electric/Poison/Ice coverage
>bad
>>
>>25596023
Sheer Force would have been better. No actually Rock Head would have been great an actual spammable stab Head Smash would have made Tyrantrum reach BL.
>>
>>25596018
It's not even gems, it's just sparkly light beams. Surely an icy aurora dinosaur can make pretty lights.
>>
>>25595978
That's like saying Huge Power is a good ability even on Sunkern. I can't think of a single move worth teaching the stupid thing other than Blizzard and that only if it has Snow Warning.
>>
>>25595995
Eh, I dunno, it basically gets Crunch as free STAB. It isn't amazing but it isn't that bad either. Also it gets Rock Head which is baller with Head Smash.
>>
>>25596048
>Rock Head would have been great

Well, it's hidden ability IS Rock Head, but I don't remember if it can be obtained by legal means yet.
>>
>>25595999
>(not like that's the case for any pokemon)
>>
>>25596023
who want strong jaws when tough claws exist?
>>
Assault vest aurorus is pretty nice.
>>
>>25596078
more like who wants strong jaws when Rock Head exists
>>
>>25595365
Sudowoodo confirmed grass
>>
>>25596067
It can be, threre was an event Tyrunt that had it.

>>25596080

kek
>>

who want rock head when reckless exist?
>>
>>25596113
who want reckless when huge power exists?
>>
Aurorus is useful in 2v2s, 120 + Refrigerate Round with Specs can be good, this even overcomes its speed problem.
>>
>>25596123
ok this guy is probably high
>>
>>25596061
Hyper Voice for Refrigerate
Blizzard for Snow Warning
Freeze Dry for pesky Water types
SR
Earth Power for Fire/Rock/Steel

If the stats were offensive-oriented it could have been ok.
>>
>>25596149
still scizor bitch
>>
>>25596171

it also learns screens, rock polish and calm mind.

its type and stat spread hold it back.
>>
>>25596171
still total shit

I'd argue Hyper Voice is actually bad since then you're not using it for the only thing it can do, induce Hail.
>>
>>25596123
Honestly, it's a fucking T-Rex. It shouldn't have Lower attack than cranidos. Huge power and intimidate would have made more sense than rock head.
>>
>>25596264
>hurr give everything huge power

you are retarded.

in fact trex wasnt highly predatory, it was mostly a scavenger.
>>
>>25596264
Yeah, I agree. But Cranidos/Rampardos thing is being the non legendary/mega pokemon with the highest base attack stat. And it's also a sort of dinosaur, so there's that.

Intimidate would have fit really well to Tyrantrum, considering it's basically the mother fucking king
>>
>>25596289
No rexes were pack predators, also literally anything that eats meat can be a scavenger.

>Be wolf
>See dead cow with some meat on it
>Eat it
>I am now scavenger.
>>
>>25596209
I'm not saying it isn't shit, because it is.
I'm just saying the movepool isn't one of the problems.
>>
predator type would be great
>>
>>25596320
>also literally anything that eats meat can be a scavenger.
what does that have to do with anything?
>>
>>25596289
>buying Jack Horner's memes
It wasn't a more of a scavenger than most predators alive today.
>>
>>25596415
>trexs evolved one of the strongest bites in nature and grew to massive size by being giant vultures
What was horner smoking?
>>
>>25595306
>rampardos - normal
>not dragon

still shit
>>
>>25596310
Too bad salamence does the intimidate/dragon dance thing better because of its better physical move pool and the threat of coverage. Tyrant run got an interesting niche.
>>
>>25595212
I like this one, if only its design had been more centered on electric

I really wish we get a non-rock fossil soon, it's been so overdone
>>
>>25595324
stab headbutt
>>
if they were all rock types, what the fuck ate tyrantrum, aerodactyl and genesect?
>>
>>25596067
It's been legally obtainable for over a year m8.
>>
>>25595202
>Auroras are produced when the magnetosphere is sufficiently disturbed by the solar wind that the trajectories of charged particles in both solar wind and magnetospheric plasma, mainly in the form of electrons and protons, precipitate them into the upper atmosphere
The real question is why doesn't it learn Ion Deluge?
>>
>>25595306

Which fossil pokemon were PURE rock again???

because the aurora borealis and aurora australis or polar light are electric / magnetic etc related phenomena that happens to be only visible in the artic and antaractic regions that beside the latitudes are also known for their extremely cold weather...
