>looking at Pokemon to use in Red and Blue
>Dragonite can't learn Fly
>Charizard doesn't until Yellow
Why?
>>25564639
Same reason scyther can't.
Charizard can learn fly if you trade him out and back into the game
Don't ask why. I have no fucking idea.
>>25564852
Wait.
Youre saying.. if I trade Charizard out from Red, and then back to Red, he can then learn Fly IN Red?
>>25564672
the already decided with stadium that scyther will not fly ever
>>25564855
Yes
>gen 1 movesets
>>25564639
Reminder that Arcanine can learn teleport in Gen 1
>>25564874
why stadium
>>25564916
>wing attack is 35 damage
>level 50
Boy, sure glad I waited
Why would you want Fly on Dragonite? You just make him Wrap everything he encounters not named Gengar.
>The only Fire move other than Ember that Growlithe/Arcanine learns is Flamethrower and Fire Blast
>Growlithe learns Flamethrower at lv 50
>TMs are single use
Fuck this gen
>>25567073
"Moves incredibly quickly and shreds its enemy with its razor-sharp scythes. On rare occasions, it flies with its wings. "
>>25567388
this states that it does fly
its different from "despite it's wings it is not capable of flying"
>>25567374
I'm pretty sure you can buy Flamethrower and Fire Blast TMs at Celadon, though.
>>25567508
You can always trade 'em to Crystal and teach it there.
>>25567374
>single use
Nothing in gen 1 is single use.
>>25564916
>needing anything other than Slash, Quick Attack and Swords Dance
Lmao
>>25567628
>X sent out Golem/Rhydon/Gengar!
>>25567508
You can get Flamethrower in the Game Corner. But only in the remakes. That doesn't help here.
>>25567707
>pokemon have weakness
>>25567738
>pokemon's weakness are super common threats because of wrap/slash/hyperbeam spam
please stop with that meme
>>25564916
>gen 1 movesets
You fetuses will never understand this but "every pokemon has access to a 80+ bp stab move for either of its types" is terrible game design. Back in gen 1 every pokemon was a niche pokemon, you had a customizable but limited pool of actions to choose from which forced you to strategize more. You autistic faggotrons are the reason most pokemon got so samey and the games got so easy. Just memorize the type matchups send in the poke with the flamethrower/t.bolt/shadow ball, etc and press a to win.
>>25567788
>X reply to my post!
>>25567825
>force you to strategist
lmao
Hyper beam and wrap isn't strategy, nerd
>>25567825
>Gen 1
>Strategy
LMAO, Gen 1 battles were press Psychic/Hyper Beam/Wrap and win
>>25567847
>>25567956
Hyper beam was almost just as useless then as it is now. The only niche it had was on debatably tauros and snorlax because high attack and stab. But if it didn't ohko it was basically the equivalent of using horn attack two turns in a row. Yeah really fucking broken right?
>>25567956
>omg gen 1 movepools are so shitty where's muh flamethrower/boltbeam/psychic for every pokemon?
>lol gen 1 just spam flamethrower/boltbeam/psychic wut strategy?
Wow get a load of this faggotry. Stunning.
>>25568068
>A 150 BP STAB move that can be used for a clean KO after a Body Slam is useless
>>25568102
I said it has it's niche uses. No ko = commiting to two vanilla 75 bp normal attacks. It's not something you want to just slap onto your fucking blastoise or rhydon when a 100 bp stab move is literally double the power, has some sort of se coverage and doesn't require two turn commitment.
>>25564855
Trade it to yellow, teach it fly, trade it back to red, and it'll still know fly.
